I Picked this "A" chassis up for $50 RTR with box and manual. I collect mainly Tamiya and Kyosho vehicles so this will be my first rc10 resto. I did a complete teardown and rebuild of the entire car, high speed buffed all of the aluminum, and completely stripped and repainted the body and wing, I still cannot believe the body came out the way it did. Please let me know what you think.

Top job! The finished product looks great. As well as asking how you stripped the paint, can I also ask how you high speed buffed the aluminium without affecting the gold anodize?

Ha, I knew that would be the first question!!! I used a citrus based cleaner I found at the dollar store in undilluted form called orange blast. Not sure if it works on all paints but it worked on this. I also stripped a kyosho outlaw body with the same stuff. You can actually see the stuff working just like latex paint stripper.

I did not buff the chassis, only the silver aluminum parts. I like the chrome look that it gives. Gotta love the dremel buffing bits.

I have researched paint removal on a lot of threads and came up with a product that works pretty good. It is called Super Clean degreaser and comes in a purple bottle. Last one I bought was from Wal-Mart. Just don't leave lexan in it for too long or it could become brittle. It doesn't work on all paints but when it does work it is pretty fast. Hope this helps.
Thanks everyone for the comments!!!! Now that I hear I did well on this one I can start on my CE goldpan. Its in a little worse shape than this one unfortunately. I was thinking of adding the foglights to the roof and hood like in the box art, what do you guys think?
