Originally I was told that this was a BBT but after reading what Tizeye posted on another post I think it is acually a Ascot but then it could be a mix. None the less it seems stock to me. The chassis is near mint with only a blemish or two. The cage is pitted pretty bad from where the car had been run or what ever but It is cleaningg up nicely. 3hrs in and way more to go. I havnt really done much with the car yet been trying to get the cage all cleaned up and looking decent, other than that just fitting a test wing to the top. Well here is a picture from when I got it sunday night I will have more a lil later but for now here is these.
Will have progress pics and more in a few days.

Well I did get some progress made on the car but not alot. I polished on this cage probually 12hrs and the camera couldnt even get a good picture of it. Aside from polishing the car I did manage to get an old wing out and get it mounted up and with a little more work it can be fully functional up down ect. I didnt know ghow to mount it and make it ajustable untill I saw the dog chewing on one of my steering links, BINGO!! I took and dug through my box of parts and found the two short ones and mated them to the wing using two ball joints and an existing wing mount. With them back there it will allow the wing to move back anf forward then i pop them off and adjust them and I can go down a lil and up alot. All I will have to do if fab some new sliders to mount more center on the wing so the front will be adjustable. Aside from that all I have left to do is get some shorter shocks on the rear and mount the electronics.
Please rember that this car is no where near done.
All posts good or bad just dont be afraid to say what you think.

I think it's cool! You might have to get it out in the sun for the aluminum to really show it's shine. I took shots of mine in the house and they looked dull too. How did you polish it?
PBR Allstar I rarley bash any of my cars. I do have a track out back that I have built though. None the less it will be more of a nice racer than a all out bash car.
RedScampi I think I will do that tomorrow and try to get you guys some pictures as soon as I can. As far as what I use I use never dull and it is found at any parts house. Be warned though it is easy to use and goes a long ways it will make your hands sore as hell.

Ben, if you're gonna race it here's a couple pointers of stuff I see right off the bat.
get some caster in that thing! make sure you're running 30 degree blocks. those flat chassis were a real pain to make work right, I cut up my vindicator (in retrospect I wish I hadn't) so I could mount a buggy nose plate on it. but yeah,,, 30 degree blocks for sure, then another thing you can do is put washers inbetween the suspension mounting blocks and the chassis plate to get a little kickup out of it.
I'm thinking the sway bar is gonna hurt more than help.
try to do something to move the wing forward on the chassis, with a rear motored car and the wing that far back the front end is not going to be working at all, the dynamic center of gravity is gonna be on the back axel with the car at speed. either that or flatten the wing out to pretty much FLAT.
Pb I have some blocks that I will swap these out for. as far as the your comment

about the wing If you cought what I said about it this is just a temparary set up. I need to make sliders so that the front can be adjustable out front. As of now the rear is fully adjustable but untill I get the new body and wings I am not going to fool with these body parts they are just test pieces.
As I mentioned I am just getting started on this and only plan on hobby racin it. I have a custom works that I will do a full scheduel with.

for a body on a older car like that I would go with the the Mcallister #222 speedway or the #201 ram air hood and tail combos, I think they are like 18 bucks for the set. as far as a wing goes there are a few different people offering them Custom Works, Factory Works, CDK, Dynotech, etc. I would personally go with the new custom works vortex wing. I think the full kit with the machined adjustable mounts is about 30 bucks.
Sounds good man ill have to check them out. I still neeed to mount the servo a bit better and get a battery made4 then figure out how imma mount stuff. If the car handels as good on the track with everything buttoned up as it does now well all I can say is hold on racers here I come. You wouldnt have a link to that wing with mounts would you?

there is also a 6x6 vortex wing available which is what rules call for if you're running foam tires 7x7 if you're running rubber tires.
tower shows out of stock on them but I would try bumps and jumps www.bumpsandjumpsrc.com or kipps hobbies www.kippshobbies.com they probably both have better prices than tower anyway and definitely awesome customer service. For both shops call them, don't rely on website inventory.
I am a hobby racer that's a bout it. I stopped at the lhs and and talked to Steve there and he said the oval is pretty much run what you brung. He suggested a losi slider wing with my tabbed up sliders. What is you're thoughts on this? I'm on a cell so when I hit a LAN line I'll check out them sites.

Hey PBR why do I keep stripping the ball cap off of the rod. I only have an issue with the right side. Mostly the rear but had the front come loose on me the other day.

the cups are coming off the turnbuckles? if that's the case I would install new ball cups and make sure that you have enough thread engagement. that's a problem you shouldn't be having, sounds like either wrong, or worn out parts.
