Wish I could make the race. I had a car ready and all but I have my son that weekend. I have a ton of DS parts if anyone needs anything.

Jay are you going to post pics on here?

Guys, one week until the race!! Please remember if you're coming from out of town that Thunder will still be having it's regular races on Friday and Saturday. So bring some of your other rides with you too.

Friday at 7pm is offroad racing, you can practice on the rug while the racing is going on, and there will be a live DJ playing tunes and taking requests (you can even kareoke if you want!).

Saturday at 6 is dirt oval, The biggest class is 13.5 sprint car. They also race minis and short course spec, as well as (yuck) bomber. Again, the on-road track is always open for practice while the racing is going on.

I hope to meet lots of you guys next weekend! I just got some door prizes today from one of our sponsors. The T-shirts are on their way and everyone will really be suprised when they see them.

Thanks
Mark

Snowing in Nashville at the moment.....

Looks like this weekend will be low 50's with a chance of light rain. I don't think winter weather will be a problem after today.

Reminder, If you plan on making it out and have goodies to sell, bring whatever you have to get rid of....

Huntsville was an ice skating rink on the drive in this morning. Rained most of the night then temps dropped to the 20s about 3 or 4 a.m. We have about 0.5in of the white stuff.

I slapped the DS together at about 4AM on Saturday morning. it's rough, mismatched screws everywhere, I wouldn't be suprised if it started shedding parts on the track lol. It's put together right, I just used what I could find at the moment, I might go back over it at Friday practice. For now I have it set up to run a brushed motor I just got with another car. If that motor goes up in smoke I have a brushless setup to throw in, but I didn't want to rob my SC10 as I'll be racing that on Friday night. I might even try to race the dirt oval on saturday since I'll be at the track anyway.

I'm excited about this race, I want to make it as enjoyable for everyone coming down as possible. My brother, the DJ, will be there on Friday playing tunes for everyone. He takes requests and best of all, he works for a bag of chips!!

The temps here on Friday are supposed to be in the 50/30s... I can't imagine Nashville will be much lower than that. If all goes well, everything should be fine. You have to remember, this is the South and they don't have the infrastructure to deal with snow. A couple of weeks ago, 65 between Huntsville and Nashville was a parking lot due to all the snow. This has been a weird weather season for this area this year.

The interstates are clear and DRY, I go home from work at 3AM and there was zero ice or even snow on the roads. I live 30 miles south of Nashville and the roads were safe. I think you'll be fine Brian. The other week when the interstates were a mess we got 5 or 6 inches in about 2 or 3 hours then sleet on top of that. This is different, we are actually getting regular snow this time, not ice.

I just burned up my first brushed motor for this weekend testing in front of my house, I think it was ready to go anyway. I have one more brushed motor, then I'm off to brushless.
