2009 Vintage Offroad Nationals

I'm very proud to announce the 2nd Annual Vintage Offroad Nationals. After last years amazing race, myself and RCHR are rearing to go for another year of the Rally in the Valley and this year will promise to be our best yet! In addition to all of last years great racing, we're adding a swap meet. That's right, who need eBay when you can set up your very own vintage micro-shop. Table space is $10 per 4ft section and will be held on Saturday morning from 9am to 12pm. There will also be food this year with a full grill, soda, water and all the goodies that fuel every r/c racers day. We're working on a few other goodies so stay tuned to this thread for more updates and sponsor additions as the months go on! Can't wait to see you all in CT for some good old fashion bump and run racing!

I think we got started at what like 10 or so last year? That may get adjusted depending on turn out but you know how that goes. You coming up again this year? You have to defend your title!

Yup, I'll be there but this time I'm bringin some friends... :)

I just wanted to get an idea on what time to fly out on Sunday. I cut it close last time and don't want to be in that much of a rush this time. May have to fly out Monday morning instead....

You gettin T shirts made for this event too?

Ya your always safest flying out the next morning or around midnight at the earliest with races. The ONLY flight I didn't have to sprint to after covering a race was the time I had one at 12am. That's great you're bringing some people and yes I am having shirts made AHEAD OF TIME THIS YEAR!!! I already have the artwork and am getting prices (rather than doing it 3 days before the race lol)

It's official now, thank you Erich for stepping up, I give up my position as an un-official RCHR spokes person.

I'll be running my XX and RC10T, both brushless and lipoed, and this time around I'll have a bit more experience.

Could you guys bring some bad drivers up too? I didn't think I looked too good out there last year, so if you guys could help me out a little that would be great.

I'm the worst one of our little bunch, so you got one :D It's too bad there's no bump ups like in nitro racing, I always do so so in the qualifiers and actually run good in the mains. I need to run some electric races before I head out there to get used to running 2wd, I've been running nitro buggy lately and it messes up my driving with an electric, you get spoiled with 4wd traction and too much motor

What are you talking about?, I was looking at the VONATs footage and I was surprised by how fast and clean most of the racing was, not to mention, no one was pulling back punches either.

I was surprised with some of the guys that said they've never raced before, and they came out and looked like they've done it before.

Youuu kiinnn doo iiittttt!!!!!

I should be able to pencil it into the schedule. I am planning on the same forum coverage as last year, so as long as I can get a connection to the net. Last I heard, Mark had set up a wireless router.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Woohoo Erich, glad to see this thread started--- I'm in. I think the Traxxas Rad2 in 2wd, most likely the purdy shelf queen Hotshot for 4wd and maybe a Frog (the kit I won last year if the kids let me race it) or Grasshopper for classic. Wait, that's $95.... may have to get one of those swap meet tables.
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.
