lipo size

Post by wyattroa »

Does anyone know what size lipo batteries will fit in the rc10T battery tray? The one running down the middle of the truck.

the smc carbon case lipos fit nicely and have the leads coming out the top so you don't need to cut the battery cups, http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXWSR9&P=ML they are kind of low output being only 24 or 28 C, so if you're looking for a competition battery you might want to look for something in the 35 - 40 C rating

If you're runnin lipo and brushless stuff on an older car (10 10T) it will affect the balance of the cars. the lipos are a lot lighter and the brushless motors are heavier so the car gets rear heavy. what I do to combat this is to move the battery cup forward and drill new holes, you can't get too much, (only about a quarter inch before it's touching a standard size servo) but anything helps. then I use a small piece of foam behind the lipo in the bulkhead to keep it tight, the bulkhead will still hold it, it's just not as deep in it. Along with this I usually run an extra ounce of weight on the nose plate in front of the shock tower, this helps it fly straight, and turn in a bit better.

I did the same just moved battery cup forward a bit and i use relatively cheap lipo's the 3racing 3700/25c with top of pack plug system and i cut small section out around the front servo side of cup and use yeah racing 3200/20c packs which the leads exit at the front of. They are 138.6mm by 47.9mm and 23.5mm and weigh 210g and are 2 for $65us at rc mart

thanks for the tips guys! I figured things would be off with the weight. By having the weight in the back with the engine and then along with the speed controller mounted on the rear shock towers. The vxl system I got from my buddy is big, the esc is huge. It would not fit anywhere on the truck but there..lol

Hey Guys,

Will most of the hard case lipos that fit the current buggies (B4) fit the first gen RC10 and on up to the worlds car. I am mostly interested in if they fit the original RC10.

Thanks,

Mike
