Complete gold pan kit part checklist?
Complete gold pan kit part checklist?
I was wondering if there was a "master" list available (in any format) that itemized every clip, pin, screw, etc... that would have been included in a basic gold pan kit? Basically a checklist of everything needed to build the car less radio equipment, bearings, or anything "extra". Thanks if anyone can let me know!

That's a great question. I'd like to know the answer to that as well!

you got a new kit, right? and it came with all of the booklets/instructions? if so, you already have everything you need to know.paul wrote:I was wondering if there was a "master" list available (in any format) that itemized every clip, pin, screw, etc... that would have been included in a basic gold pan kit? Re: Complete gold pan kit part checklist?
Well, as I found out, the kit that I got was missing a couple things, and had a few of the wrong parts (4 long shocks instead of 2 short, 2 long). Sure, I could go through the entire book looking at the pics, page by page, but if there was a readily available list, it would be much easier to determine what might be missing. I've also seen differences in parts I've disassembled from other cars(had rear shocks with cut tubing to provide spacing on the shaft, as well as a set that had 3 of the plastic spacers that are in the bottom of the shock between the o-rings to provide the same spacing). I'm assuming that was possibly due to changes or revisions? In any case, when you're faced with a bunch of random parts in bags and you're brand new to these cars, it would be nice to have some sort of guide.scr8p wrote:you got a new kit, right? and it came with all of the booklets/instructions? if so, you already have everything you need to know.paul wrote:I was wondering if there was a "master" list available (in any format) that itemized every clip, pin, screw, etc... that would have been included in a basic gold pan kit? I'm not even sure if the instructions that I got with the kit are for that exact year/revision. All I know is a guy had it in his closet since the late 80's and I've found inconsistencies so far such as the wrong shocks (prob production line mistake), and also parts that belonged to a completely different kit.

On your Edinger, you do not use the three spacers in the rear shocks, that was a later update!

That's good to know! I was wondering about that because one set I took apart had spacers, another had the rubber/silcone tubes, but the instructions in the kit don't show *anything* on the rear shocks, and I don't remember seeing tubes or extra spacers in any of the bags!slotcarrod wrote:On your Edinger, you do not use the three spacers in the rear shocks, that was a later update!

i'm pretty sure the rear shocks used the 5/8" fuel tubing into the cadillac kits.
