broken shock tower turned franken hornet

Post by vintage88 »

so i was bashing around with my hornet in the sand and i came down HARD on the front end and snaped the front shock tower so i pulled all the parts and put them on a new chassis. but being the pack rat i am i couldnt pitch the old chassis...lol but motivated by some parts i bought on ebay(whole car less chassis) i decided to dig out the broken chassis and see what i could do to fix it so this is now going to be a frankenhornet build havent decided exactly what all i will do to it yet but the shocks i used for the front were from a ta 02 i recently built up and had extra so i think i want to find tamiya shocks to use for the rear but i dont want stock so we will see what i figure out

going to be kinda hard putting a body on that. how about making a shock tower similar to the CRP one on my hornet

i have a lexan body cut for it already but no pics of that until its done not quit hornet but this is a franken ride so u will see when i get all my parts together but a few things have priority over the hobby for awhile(wedding planning  ) so it will be a slow build

crp's futaba fx10 upgrade works awesome:

it turns the front end into a true double wishbone suspension.
