how about a "Vintage" NIB nose plate:

Shucks, I must have been sleeping when that one went down.

Eau Rouge, shall we saddle up the horses?

I'm arming up, locking down, stocking up and boarding the windows closed. This is crazed. There has to be something in the water. Contaminated Diet Coke, or something.

And 15 bids for that noseplate, no less...

This thatstuffinthebasement guy seems to be heavily bidding up a lot of these wacky auctions. Anyone know him or her? These prices are outrageous for common PARTS. I donno, but it's starting to look fishy.

What the dealio here is that you guys have been spoiled with low prices. I am starting to see an emergence of collector interest in RC10's and that will only drive the prices upward. High prices have been the norm when it comes to Tamiya stuff just take a look at this little gem http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230125125751&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=013

I know what you mean. I was watching some parts the other day and one particular guy won several of them. Less than 2 days later, the original seller had them relisted and no negative feedback left for the guy that won but obviously did not pay.

I have also seen his name on this board advertising the parts he won but did not buy.

Something in the water indead. It is definatley fish related too.

Let the hoarding begin

Wow that is crazy nuts. You can buy a nice full size bug for that. More power to 'em. I'll never have that kind of mad money (although I am about that mad ) :D

i have no problem paying too much for something if i really, really want it. but, i would have to be off my rocker to pay over $20 for a pr. of arm mounts.

I agree. For the right item, I'll pay whatever I deem reasonable.

Some of these things, in my opinion, are completely unreasonable. The prices of NOS parts is wacky. I think I need to post some of my cast-offs on eBay this weekend. 8)

i guess if i was a diehard r/c collector, i would look at things different. but since i'm not, i feel the prices are getting rediculous. i'm just glad there's only one more chassis that i want to add to my little fleet. after i get it, i'm done. other than shocks, trannys, and other small readily accessible items, i have all the parts i need to finish them. then it's back to spending money on racing. :D

edit: actually i need a pr. of white rpm worlds arms, white rpm spring cups/rod ends, and 2 white battery boxes.

nope, i'm dead serious. an a&l trailing arm chassis is gonna be the last one. now that there's a new dirt oval track 15 min. from my house, and i don't have to drive 2 plus hrs. to get to a race, that's where my focus is going back to.
