Can hydra drive fit to JRX pro se？

I got a losi vintage car，that seen jrx pro se mold chassis，but slipper I known that is
losi hydra drive. I knew hydra drive come from losi xx,is that any conversion parts will make it fit
to losi jrx pro se?

It depends about what gear box you used on your Pro-SE !

My Pro SE has the 2.19:1 tranny with a HYDRA drive, So yup its do-able

That is what the Hydradrive was originally designed to go on. Production issues with the tolerances of the impeller and outer housing delayed it going into the SE kits. As long as you have the proper Hydra top shaft, it will work on either tranny.

So I’m going to try and put a Hydra-Drive together. I’ve had a look through all the threads I can find but I can’t find a rebuild thread.

Yes, but you'll need the appropriate hydra shaft for the trannies that you mentioned. Depending on the shaft used you may or may not be able to use the existing slipper backing plate.

I'm trying to wrap my little brain around the hydra drive.

I thought that the unit itself acted like a torque converter, using the fluid within to act as a slipper clutch.

But then why do you install the hydra drive unit on top of another...

the hydra allows you to set your friction slipper more loosely then you typically do with friction pad only, giving you better traction on tracks with rapidly changing conditions.

OK, so the Losi 22 seems to be generating 10th scale mod buggy interest at the local track and I have enough parts to build a black tub RC-10 or refitting a built JRX-2 (5 link, original trans) with a new body.

Heat was the thing I was worrying about. Repeatedly heat cycling the internal plastic parts to the point of fatigue failure...

I'll probably give it a try though. Loading it up with heavy diff lube and running it very loose would be an interesting...
