Losi Jrx Junior 2 Pro Se

Post by Momo5 »

So I've had an old beat up Junior 2 sitting in a box in my garage for years. Over the last couple of months I bought a couple of used vintage losi parts lot and went to work. Heres what it looked like before:

Well I wanted to use a graphite chassis, and I got one in one of the parts lot. I tried to clean it up as best I could, but it still looked pretty crappy with too many scratches on it. Heres two before pics:

Although I cant remember if it was this site or not, I recall reading a forum where someone bought some carbon fiber vinyl and covering up the chassis. I know it offers no performance advantage but I ordered some of that vinyl and covered up the chassis. I think it turned out pretty good!

I've still got a few more things to replace. I was wondering if anyone knows of an undertray that I could buy for this? I guess it wouldnt be too hard to make one, but I dont even know where I could buy a sheet of lexan.

Looks good to go dude! Nice job.

Undertrays are a pain in the butt.....I'd just use a chassis protector sheet like ASC9787 over
the vinyl. Or if u have more vinyl, don't worry about it until later on when u rebuild.

It looks good...I just did a similar "restoration" on an older RC10 graphite chassis (unknown maker).

I had a hard time making clean holes in mine, did you use a fresh x-acto blade? Or another method?

looks great, Red Scampy, and I did them on here with jrx2 chassis. I would go around the edges with clear fingernail polish to keep it from lifting.

Yeah I made a few small cuts with a X-acto blade, and then I used an allen wrench and stuck it through the hole and twisted it a bit. It worked pretty good.

Thanks for the tip about the fingernail polish bearrickster. I'll make sure I do that.

I've always loved the Pro's long front shock tower and shocks. I know it being longer doesnt offer a performance advantage but I think they look awesome....

That's looking great momo! Rick and I both did the carbon fiber thing on chassis that might otherwise have been garbage. In addition, I filled extra holes and deep scratches with jb weld, and built up the rear end with jb weld where it had drug on the ground repeatedly. After that I sanded, filled pinholes with bondo and sprayed flat black before applying the graphite material. Rick's nailpolish idea works great!
