Tamiya ALMS Rahal Letterman BMW GT2

Post by mrlexan »

So, I am just as much a BMW fan as I am a Mustang fan, compounded by attending IMSA (now ALMS) races since I was a kid. When Tamiya released the 58449 kit, you know I had to get a custom body decal set done so it would look like the real deal. Actually, out of all the custom decals I've had printed, this is the first set I have actually applied to a body. I think it turned out great! Comments welcome.

Pics of the Tamiya kit as is and pics of the real 1:1 car are also below.

He could put a strap under it and wear it as a hat. :D

Jay, what did you use for the window tint? The Tamiya spray? Or maybe the Pactra stuff?

Scott, you know how detailed the Tamiya kit sticker sheets are these days. The windows are just one big sticker, from the factory.

I actually enjoyed doing this one, it's been a while since I have applied anything to lexan. I've got the Akin Coke Porsche 935 K3 that I want to do, but I need some direction on the best practices for painting window/windshield frames.

Wow, I'd be scared of those stickers. I'd probably end up with a couple pieces of lint in each window.
