hey guys, scr8p's hpi thread has reminded me about my HPI 10L sitting there, so thought I would get some thoughts on it

I think its mostly complete, barring the front brace and rear wheel gaurds. and the motor I have no idea about its an UNO but just says "World Record 85mph"

need will be rebuilding this guy over the next few weeks, needs a thorough clean.

any ideas for bodies? was just thinking something from protoform's latest line, keep it unpainted. getting the wheels might be tougher though, either capped BSR's or TRC Pro Radials...neither of which they sell here in japan

i would personally go with a "period" body. the associated narrow jag body was a popular choice for the insane runs.

So I've had this idea of building a insane speed run car for a while.
I'm not sure where it will end up, but aiming for a -90 to -94 era car.
I just picked up this rc10ls and have accumilated part over a period of time. Allso have a nib composite...

I've been thinking of building a speed car on and off for the past couple of years. I knew/know I could build something pretty serious but due to lack of places to use it, lack of grip and not wanting to invest the type of money it would require...

Ahh yes, that was part of my plan but you beat me to it.

I knew the standard shocks and tower wouldn't fit under this style body so I had a few alternative designs in mind. The car doesn’t really need suspension, just a little flex in my opinion....

Here's something I built from some parts last weekend:

- HPI chassis, front brace, and upper pod plate.
- Composite Craft lower pod plate.
- Unknown manufacturer left clamping hub and lightened right hub, servo...

I also think of making a HPI 10L if I find a chassis, I have some other HPI parts already.

But I think at your car you should take away the bumper, this HPI chassis looks much better without.
You hide maybe the best looking area of the chassis...

attempted to do some super fast speed runs with my graphite and I was wondering what kind of tires to run. I've read about people using foams. I'm also at a loss of what can be run on the front since the wheels need the bearings in them.

No joke, I always thought it would be a good idea to adapt some rollerblade wheels to a speed run car. Well... good idea may be a bit strong. Fun or interesting may be a better adjective. :lol: You'd have to take off slow, but once you got rolling...
