Just raided an old hobby store
I have been asked to sell all the old inventory from a hobby store that has been closed for a few years. Starting with Losi first because I know it best.
This is actually the second old store in 3 months. The last one I just bought out all the old Losi parts. He had been closed for about 8-9 years.
I just went tonight with some boxes and started rounding up the oldest stuff first.
Here are some picts I took. Don't get too jealous!

Nothing is for sale right now. I took down what I had been selling of my own collection on the vintagelosi.com site. Going to try a legit cart system through my company to have it better organized.
I know, I am such a tease.

Nope, this stuff was either just dug off shelf of out of a box tonight.
Covered in lots of dust and made you really dirty. The water was off in the building and made it fun to try and clean up afterwards.

You guys do great for old hobby shop finds you would thing there would be some good pickings over here too but for some reason they are all switched on to eBay, every shop I find I ask the question on old stock but to no avail
Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

Re: Just raided an old hobby store
Well the reason this stuff hasn't been sold sooner is laziness and the thought that it would be worth more later. If they had just sold the parts and put the money in a savings account for 5 years they would have more money than selling the parts 5 years later.
There is some other stuff besides off road, but that is the majority. Some touring car stuff like xxxs, tc3, tc4, and rs4. Also some stuff like rc-10L, but not much. I stopped taking pictures because my hands got all dirty and digusting. Didn't want to get my nice camera all dirty from my hands. You didn't even see a close up of the Ofna, HPI and Traxxas stuff.
Found lots of old paperwork for tekin, novak, custom works, and a bunch of other companies. Got some Losi price lists from 95 and 96 with XX products. Will get that stuff added to vintagelosi.com soon.

Re: Just raided an old hobby store
Well, some of us, anyway. None of the shops around me even have any vintage stuff at all. The only place that did have let me dig through a couple big plastic bags they had under a counter. I would have snagged anything I thought someone here could have used but most of it wasn't old enough, interesting enough or even recognizable.Synergy wrote:You guys do great for old hobby shop finds you would thing there would be some good pickings over here too but for some reason they are all switched on to eBay, every shop I find I ask the question on old stock but to no avail

Re: Just raided an old hobby store
One sort of humorous thing I have processed so far is a Horizon Hobby Losi GTX review sent to dealers for the launch of the GTX.

Love how it talks about how they didn't just slap a gas motor on a XXT. The suspension was designed specifically for gas. If you know the GTX and NXT, you know many of the major suspension parts are taken from the LXT parts bin. Not completely a lie or anything, but not really the design work they make it out to be.

Re: Just raided an old hobby store
>>Is there any old Kyosho/Cox Scorpion parts?
I have only looked real close at the Losi stuff.
The only Kyosho stuff I saw at first glance was newer ZX-5 parts.
I won't know for weeks what is all there, it all has to be inventoried before it leaves the place. It is only me working on it.
