Hi everyone - old rc12 fan, new to the site
I dug out the old cars and started a conservative rebuild. Here's where I'm at at the moment.
All new electronics (futaba 2ph system, tazer 12t esc with my old brushed Trinity Speedworks motor) along with a new body and my custom graphics.
What do you guys think? Suggestions?

cool car and body... I want the 1/10 scale body for a 10lss.
Are you holding the battery with zip ties? I never thought to run stick packs that way on the 12l.

yes, zip ties. I've used velcro also, but the zip ties work better.knucklebuster wrote:cool car and body... I want the 1/10 scale body for a 10lss.

Here's a current vid with the new tazer esc / old Trinity 427 in it - In all honesty I don't recal what what the drive / pinion gearing is.
Seems to be running pretty good to me. I'd like to get the other 2 rc12s running atleast this well also - yes, there's 2 others just about ready to be reborn

Here's the 2nd car, got it running last night I'd like to upgrade the asc though, the aristocraft does alright just a bit too big for a 1/12 The other car has the Trinity Speedworks motor in it, this one has the lemans gold motor in it.

Re: Hi everyone - old rc12 fan, new to the site
UPDATE
The 1st shown is running great, I can only nitpick before I upgrade certain items at this point
Bought a few spurs and pinions to play with.
I swapped the 2nd rc's esc to my old lrp f1 for the time being so that 1 is running much better.
I'm not sure what happened to the Aristocraft, it just decided it to run at WOT and stuck there
My 3rd rc12 is almost there, photos to come. I'll post later this week when that happens.
In the meantime, I'll be working on my homage to the Porsche 917 for the car body

The Fiberglass kits came with the bumper. The "Pro" Carb. Fiber and EARLY Graphite cars like mine didn't come with it. I found 2 of them NIP and put it on. I resold the other one to another member here for his collection. I really like that Toyota body. I have never seen one before. I spent hours making my own saddle packs. I never thought about straping down a stick. Awesome!

Re: Hi everyone - old rc12 fan, new to the site
Thanks, I'm a Toyota fan so it had to be done
I ordered some TC3 foam bumpers, hopefully those will fit ok. If not, maybe I'll try the larger 7" foam bumper. My son is 8, so I need some protection up there If figured I'd never find 1 or 2 of those fiberglass bumpers at this point
The normal packs barely fit either standing up or laying down, a just bought a couple to ram around with for now. Eventually I'll have to address that issue when I update my battery type & charger, I haven't really decided which route to take yet though.

Realized I had a top graphite piece so I slapped that on. The new co27 pro for 99 is in also - lovin' it already.

Re: Hi everyone - old rc12 fan, new to the site
GPS'd "99" today on my 100 or so ft driveway - eh not too bad, it did 19.6 Probably would go faster on a smoother/longer surface. We also stopped down @ the asphalt oval track for a few hours to get some time in - we had a blast
