Hello you lot.

Post by Volumiza »

Just thought i'd say hello. i'm a newboy who's very accidentally found a new hobby after buying an old six speed goldpan to thrash around with. but a moment of immaturity has now developed into 2 goldpans and a budding shelf queen! I've been gathering bits and bobs for a few weeks now and will continue to do so for the forseeable future :D (which my wife is frowning at).

I admit to knowing next to nothing other than the fact i love these cars but i'm learning by the day, so i've been reading this forum for a week or so but figured the best way to learn is by asking the people that know, so i'll be picking your brains to make sure i don't wander too far from the path of enlightenment.

one of my gold pans will be a good, honest thrasher which i dont need to look too pretty as long as it beats my friends  , the other gold pan i've decided to try and restore to as near its original glory as humanly possible. the shelf queen is evolving slowly but very surely and i already have ideas for the next one!

I'll try and get some pictures up here soon.

Welcome to the board.... The gold pan is a great buggy to built and drive. It is tough and of very good quality. Of course it is heavier that today's buggy but waaaayy nicer.... A very good choice to learn...

Cheers

thanks. i agree with your comment about build quality and looks, i've just stripped, cleaned and rebuilt an old '84 six speed and it looks gorgeous for a 23 year old.
