can someone school me on this RC10 pancar?

Post by klavy69 »

just liking some info on this pancar I got in a couple years ago. Was with a bunch of parts too. Mostly look like CompositeCraft type material just like the nip parts I have but it looks like a mod or kit I might've read about a long time ago. Might've been something that was in the ebay auction page too. Can't remember  . The front 'battery bar' is a sliding mechanism and it slides back under spring tension to hold a battery in the cups. Its kinda cool really as I've never really seen any others like it too much and it looks too good to be a backyard engineering job but anyway, enuf chatter...

some of the pieces that came with it:

and a few misc. pieces rc10 related that came with it also:

Well anyway, some of this stuff really perplexed me. I'm thinkin the rear pod plates aren't made for associated but honestly have no real clue

Thanx for any upcoming info!

Quick change battery setup for endurance racing. Cliff Lett had a similar setup on a 10L.

Yes a lot of CC stuff. In the 4th picture you have a CC lower "aero" pod plate, and the nerf bars that are the CC style Carbon are also CC pieces, below the pod plate is the CC Bumper - that is held in place by the one of the two "braces" (on the right side of the picture) in the same picture. The plain carbon Weave nerf bars look like standard AE parts.

I think it would be cool to build a QC (quick change) car. Kent or Bud might be able to provide some technical input. Maybe style it after a Whip car;)

Let me know what you are looking for in the way of parts and I can let you know what I got that might work.

Looks like I am gonna have to add another box to the 'box-o-projects' box pile. I might have a couple parts to put it together but no alot.

You have any links to a 'whip car'? New to pan car stuff and not really knowing what you are meaning

Yeah I meant one of the Lake Whipporwill and Thunderdrome cars that raced on the awesome outdoor oval, they ran quick changes so they could do faster Battery changes and pit stops. I think Kent is in the second video getting interviewed.

Here are some You tube videos I was able to find:

If you build it, you need to wear some short cut-off jean shorts and a tight neon t-shirt to get in the mood like the guys in those videos.

Pry have all that stuff sitting in the bottom shelf of the closet yet  I could do all but the sandal thing. Not a sandal type guy and don't even like being around anyone running r/c who is wearing sandals. I have a pretty strong stomach for blood but tore off toenails...(picture me cringing at the thought) :? ...

Brought my 12i to the Encino Velodrome the first time they ran it. I found out that a parking lot road race setup with a crazy geared modified motor was a handfull. I had some huge Cox / Kyosho aluminum pinion gear that forced the car to require a rolling start so it wouldn't blow the Novak's big automotive fuse. When it got going it was extremely fast but I was lucky to complete a lap. I had no idea what I was doing

I am glad you posted the pictures of this. I have seen some of those videos and always wondered how the battery mounted in the car.

I agree build the car and make sure to take pics when you go to the track to run the car wearing the neon shirt and cut off jeans  .
