hot rod magazine
i don't know if any of you guys are into hot rods, customs, etc., but in the new issue of hot rod magazine, october 06, there is a 55 oldsmobile that me and my dad built. it's black, and done up like a 60's drag car. so, if your walking through the store or somewhere, and see the mag, take a minute and page through it. it's a pretty cool car, if your into old stuff.
here's a quick pic for reference. car's not done in pic, though.

That's awsome scr8p, very nice work. Congradulations on the top ten pick! That's definately something to be proud of.
Check out the upcoming Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale AZ, It's in January. The feature car this year is owned by my boss, and I have worked on it. It's a 1970 Hemi Cuda with 74 original miles on it. It was also featured in Mopar Action magazine (Dec. issue), the Title was "Bottom Line: the lowest milage Hemi Cuda on the planet. Period." I didn't do any major work to it, just some little stuff, but still it's a pretty cool feeling.
The B-J people are estimating the car to sell somewhere in the range of 2.5-3 million, some have even said it will go past 4 million.
Personally, I wouldn't give 10 grand for it.

justinspeed79 - if i remember right, a cuda sold there, this last auction, for 3 million. so, if the same people are there next year, guaranteed they will be, it wouldn't surprize me if it got at least that much. the guy we built this olds for took his 1967 shelby gt 500 out this past auction. it sold for $222,500.
noony - i don't know if you go to car shows, but we're going to be taking this car to the detroit autorama in march. we'll be there all three days. if you ain't doing anything, stop by a say hi.

the collectors are mainly there for the look. they're not functional. in PA, it's illegal to be able to run open exhaust. so, if an inspection station takes the covers off, as long as no exhaust comes out, they'll pass it. we found that out when we finished my dads 55 chevy, and he tried to get it inspected. it flunked.carloco8 wrote:Nice! That bad boy must be pretty LOUD with that open header like that.....hehe.
