Some highly explicit pics for TEMPLE!! ( RC12E )

Post by RETRO R/C »

Here you go Temple:

Built both of these up from new parts - side by side at the same time......one of my fondest builds to be honest!

ALL parts including screws etc are correct and from unopened bags.

Note the height difference (because of the screws) between the countersunk light weight chassis and the standard original one.....

Quite a huge difference in weight between the lightweight and standard versions.....sorry they are jumbled up......

LMK if you guys would prefer thumbnails!

Comments are of course always welcome....I also have a good selection of parts still available for sale after these builds.

Cheers

Hmmmm - looks like a later version - and perhaps a "bitsa" to me? The front blocks didnt come in black until some considerable time later - and the top plate in is in glass and not the weightsaver one.....still - nice bit gear!

Thanks for the link!

Cheers

Very nice!

I have a soft spot for 1/12th scale cars. These were a bit before I got into carpet racing, but mouth-watering nonetheless.

Nice builds!

WOW! Thanks for posting those Darryn, really nice. I'll get going on my ws here soon. I've just received a nib 3311 chassis just to have the option of it or the 3319 wedge chassis. 8)

A few of my ressurections are around here

Darryn, the top plate on your weightsaver is on upside down... Is that a "down under" thing?

LOLOL,

You can mount em either way!.......I mounted it this way - so that when I fit the Novak Bantam - the servo saver will clear, thats the way I had them back when we were racing them (old car in the background is an old runner) back then.....if I am wrong - must be a downunder thing!! LOLOL

Yeah - motors are another passion of mine.........got at least 80 or so different types, Revolution, bolink, kyosho, trinity, checkpoint, revtech etc etc.

Dont forget to let me know if you guys prefer thumb nails or the pics....dont want to tread on any toes!

Cheers

I think it weighs more than the servo and resistor setup...

I bought a pair just because they were cheap. 8) Now if I could find a complete Leisure 100... :?

Had a look at the other threads with your cars Temple - VERY nice indeed - thanks for the links.

For me - 1/12th scale is the F1 of electric racing. Super quick, razor edge handling. You have to concentrate so hard to be fast. My favourite type of electric on road racing. The only class that was close to being better is now dead - Pro 10....damn that was a good class.

Will have to post some pics up of tme 12is car with prototype front end - yep - got one of the original mules for the monoshock front end car in my posession - hand machined delrin the lot. Lucky score in a lot that I bought in buld some time ago.

Will keep an eye on that auction too!

Cheers for now

Well, here's a peek at my WS project... almost ready to build except for a few bits.

Jay, did you ever open one of those RTR 12E kits?

I am not one for opening old sealed kits, but I do have one that was slightly used.... why? I have quite a few of the 12es, 12is, and 12Ls, if I had to estimate, maybe 20 or so total, some NIB, some new builts, and some used... not to mention a ton of parts to build a couple more.
