My original Rc10 born in the USA refurbished in France

Post by Rc4on »

:D

In 2004 I bought an old RC10 with lot of dust on Evilbay. It spend many years in box waiting for some attention.
During 2006 I totally refurbish the gold pan except the body and the Rc10 return in the box.

This year i decided to finish it with a look close as possible to box art and fit a radio control.

I put a 2,4ghz receiver into an old KO-Propo cover and kept the old servos

I kept the MSC and i try to set as best as i can.

And then I spend many time on bodyset to obaint the amazing look of box art.

I made a mistake by using the wrong paint. I took a PS Tamiya black instead of PC Tamiya Black (for lexan), so any friction scratch the paint  Then I ordered a repro decal set and understood that was impossible to reproduce the box art with it. No matter i use some trim line to do the job.

I include a driver...

I really love this car, very easy to drive for his age, the MSC is very gradual and the brakes are effective. Not like those on Tamiya MSC with brutal reverse. The look with the combinaison of colors is pretty nice looking.
Definitly one of my favorite vintage RC.

Very nice work! Especially on the paint job. Is there much of a following for rc10s in France?

Very nice! The car looks superb, so well done without being too perfect or overdone.

The modern mid-motor, cab-forward stuff doesn't even come close......

The original RC10 is the look of an off-road buggy. Period.

I fully cleaned and refurbished the stock motor by myself with few tools and add balls bearing.

After change the ratio to 10/54 (see ratio chart here) the track is a little short, the RC10 is close to be finish.

Nice video, it jumps better than my Slash 4*4 on that tricky little bump.
