Restore out drives

Post by janaya »

The diff out drives on my Stealth trans are a little oxidized. Can you all share some of the best ways to clean and restore them. I was considering using metal polish but I am a little hesitant.

You can soak them in WD-40 or just scrub them with a bit of bathroom cleaner. Metal Polish I'm sure would work too.

Wire wheel them, hit them with some 600-1000 grit.

If you want them blued, use Birchwood-Casey gun blue.

If mine are new, I soak a rag with WD-40, and wipe away all oxidation, if they are for runner's, same idea, only with a 3m scuff pad.
