Wheres Rods truck?? I know he has one- I sold him a NIP shell
What up Reggie!
Yes, this is a new chassis and nose plate. Some quality satin black paint would probablylook pretty good though, if you don't want to spring for a new chassis.

Reminds me of the softball team we had in 1994 (prior to an easy internet search) the Bayside Tigers. Everyone scratched their heads thinking "That sounds familiar". The next year we (to this day) became the Gashaus Gorillas. I often took one of my GTs to games and shredded the parking lot prior to games.

Definitely ran my share of bases...with the gt . Would take a 'break' from the hard day of work and run over to the closest ball diamond and race the bases with one of the guys who worked for me that I got hooked on gt fumes.

I noticed the link went 404 after I posted that. I thought about editing it, but felt it best to still pay due homage.

Well guys, I tried to get ahold of Dave, but all I am getting it's a message from Verizon saying the number cannot be completed as dialed. It it's the same number I have always had for him, and the number he used to call me from last. I don't know what it's going on, but I will keep trying.I will let you guys know if I hear anything.
I snagged this off of the bay Friday. This will be a donor truck. The CZ-R is perfect for this truck, and it has the plated brake cam that this truck is missing.
The bottom of this one is pretty trashed, but other than that it looks like most of it will clean up pretty good. It should make a nice cache of parts for other projects I have in the works.
I am also thinking that, since I haven't found any gold shocks for this truck, I might just go ahead and give it the full team truck treatment. At this point all that's left is the universals anyway.
I saw that truck and thought it was a pretty good price. Maybe I'm wrong but isn't that a CZ-Z not an R.
I also have a full brand new set of gold shocks if you are interested. I like the team truck look better, never liked the gold shocks with the black tubs.

Completely different besides heads. Different porting, rod, crankcase, and piston if I remember. I have both just can't remember all the details.
Wasn't sure if maybe it was just a Z head on an R
If I remember the crank are the same, transfer ports in the the crankcase were different and beefed up. I think the conrod was beefed up as well as improved lube hole. better porting on the cylinder. I could be wrong as I'm going off of a cobweb memory!
So I acquired a big box of RC10 stuff from a co-worker that he said he's had for a long time. In the Box was a RC10T and a RC10GT pan chassis. Also a box of misc parts, oils, tires, etc. I've had these for about a year now and finally have gotten to...
I just received this GT in the mail.
It has nitro grime all over it and 20 year old duct tape, but I can tell its in good shape underneath.
Ill post pics of the restoration as I go.
I'll disassemble it, right down to each screw, clean each part...

This one turned out great. Almost makes me want to clean up my hpi hellfire. Good job
The RC10GT. I first saw one on the shelf of a hobby shop in Houston, Texas at the age of roughly 8. I remember being impressed by the size of the model (having only played with smaller ‘toy’ R/C cars), and the ‘softness’ of the...

Cool, I will let you know. Gonna have to find the truck first :)
I love to restore more than building new out the box. Its just something about bringing old forgotten RC'S back to life so when I came across someone who had this old blackfoot body and Sees Aluminum wheels with a vintage Sassy Chassis thats been...

That came out spectacular ! Well worth your effort.
I've been looking to buy a RC10GT for a project I've wanted to work on and just picked up this rolling chassis. Looking to do truck or buggy mid-motor e-conversion. Erich Reichert did a pretty sweet mid motor e-buggy build that looks cool.
So I was at my folk's house recently and spied my old rc10gt hanging up on the wall. (just where I left it, decades ago) I took it home and am now toying with the idea of bringing it back to life. It has a HPI NitroStar .15 SS engine - so assuming I...

I highly doubt you'll find the parts for the carb. You could scour eBay, you never know, but I think it's unlikely. I would just ditch the hpi carb and find a cheap used os carb to stick on there. An os 10E carb from an os 12/15cv should work well,...
After being away from RC for about 25yrs, I am returning to the addiction  I recently purchased a RC10GT that I have always wanted as a kid, but could never afford one. I have no experience with nitro, but I am fairly up to...

Here are the updated electronics I have on the truck:

Protek Life receiver pack
Sanwa receiver w/ MT-4S remote control
I've ran about 8 tanks through her and she has performed well. Took some time to learn how to tune...
