My MODERN day RC10 build thread
My MODERN day RC10 build thread
I have been in and out of rc for 20 years. Some of the best memories for me was hanging out with dad back in the day traveling around Southern Ontario Canada racing at different tracks. So I decided to make a modern day runner.
Thanks to this site, I have been reading, copying ideas to make my self a modern RC10 runner. My plan; To do justice to all the other rc10 buggies.
I have been racing a 22 for the past few years and found the racing to lost the fun. I have been inspired by all the build threads and hope my version 1.0 goes well. I race mainly indoor carpet but for my fist build it will be a rear wheel buggy then a hybrid mid motor version.
I found a chassis to work with on our local free ad site Kijiji.
This build may take a bit due to the gathering of global parts and chassis colouring either anno or power coating.

I decided to go with a slammed look, and a stealth tranny for this project. Picked up a template to make the tranny install.
Re: My MODERN day RC10 build thread
Some of the parts starting to arrive.
Waiting for the postal delivery sucks. I was able to source some parts from my LHS which made tossed a little support to the place I like to race. Hot Rod Hobbies in Hamilton Ontario.
A local Racer and friend Rob, donated some B4 parts for the tranny, front end and b4 front wheel.
YES thes 3 front and 3 rears. One arm front and rear for spares.. I should have bought more for my Mid motor project.

Re: My MODERN day RC10 build thread
Quick question for all out there. My stealth Tranny has a felt spacer between the motor plate and tranny case... What is the purpose for this? Its torn, do I need it?
Re: My MODERN day RC10 build thread
You don't really need it. Its purpose is to keep dirt from getting in through the top shaft, I think. I remember reading somewhere that Associated driver Cliff Lett never ran one. So I'm sure its okay for us too!zleader wrote:Quick question for all out there. My stealth Tranny has a felt spacer between the motor plate and tranny case... What is the purpose for this?
