96 traxxas bandit outfitted with sand pattle tires
Hey guys, I will be posting a build thread that starts and most likely ends tomorrow. What started as a buggy lost in some dudes garage turns into the ultimate dune buggy!

Here is the car, mechanical speed control and all.

It looks really good for being up in a garage for so long.

I got really lucky and the tires came right off the rim without any glue residue or anything.

Now its time to clean up the rims.

Why will it never see sand? It's not rare or valuable.

To he honest its because it is my first vintage build. No, its not valuable, but since I dont have many cars from bitd its valuable to me.85Edinger wrote:Why will it never see sand? It's not rare or valuable.

The kimborough spur fits nicely! The 550 motor fits as well with the help of a couple washers.

Everything is Green! I chose the new bandit electronics because they are cheap and efficient.

Looks good.
You wouldn't need washers on the motor if you cut the shaft down.
Also, I said the car's not rare or valuable, but it's not even really vintage. The car is still made. Every part on it is available on Tower Hobbies.
Just enjoy it.

Re: 96 traxxas bandit outfitted with sand pattle tires
Its weird with the rustler, bandit, stampede because some of them are so old they should be vintage but traxxas just keeps on making the same thing so it makes them common.
Nice build BTW. Looks clean. I had an experience with the bandit once. The front wheel kept falling off and the suspension was so inadequate for dirt jumping/racing that I sold it even after I fixed it all up.

Re: 96 traxxas bandit outfitted with sand pattle tires
If the suspension proves inadequate, it's just a few parts away from being a Rustler. That would solve any problems.

It was more than that.85Edinger wrote:If the suspension proves inadequate, it's just a few parts away from being a Rustler. That would solve any problems.
You could say it was just too many light years behind the SRT and TCP in every way for me to maintain in my stable of RC cars...

Right, I was thinking about doing the rear arms from a slash because they are just a hair longer. It would probably give it a cool look as well.BMKTW2 wrote:It was more than that.85Edinger wrote:If the suspension proves inadequate, it's just a few parts away from being a Rustler.
