Don't get too excited.... these are the 2.2" two row studs that first appeared on the Cougar2 model... these have been re-released in response to needing a front tyre for use on the high grip Astro Turf tracks we have in the UK, that gives less bite than the normal Minispike fronts.... especially on 4wd buggies where racers have started using the Cut Staggers that were intended for 2wd... this caused a little debate on Oople since it seems odd to be running a front tyre that gives little in the way of forward traction on the front of a 4wd car?!

P.S; Schumacher still sell the original 'CAT' 2" full spike & block tyres (the latter still work well on astro too  )

I agree Dan, the only reason this tyre was brought back is due to some drivers using the old stock versions and doing well. Also, the BRCA rules would have stopped drivers using the older tyre as they were no longer commercially available, but since Schumacher still had the mould, the re-re tyre stopped any on-going BRCA legality issues.

That being said, the old tyres were green compound if I remember correctly, these new ones are in yellow. So there is still a difference between them. Well, unless the drivers get the yellow paint out
