My Team Losi XXT
My Team Losi XXT
I bought this in already great shape before cleaning it up a bit and adding some upgrades. It came with the HydraDrive and all the original parts. I believe the front tires are the originals, but I think the rears were originally step-pins, right? I added the Trinity purple screws, because that was the thing to do in the mid 90s, and found a new XXT-CR body and gear cover. I'm still looking for some stickers for it, and maybe someday I'll get brave enough to attempt a box art paint job if I can find a regular XXT body. I remember trying to decide between the XXT and RC10T back in '95 when I was looking at purchasing my first hobby grade RC, and I decided to go with the RC10T. I really miss that truck. I hopped the crap out of it! RPM chassis and everything else, titanium everything, etc. Sold that to buy a XXT-CR in 1998. Funny thing is that I don't even remember ever driving that truck before selling it a year later. Anyways, I bought this to relive some of my childhood memories, along with the SRT posted in the Traxxas section. I'm debating if I want to make this a runner or keep it on the shelf. I'm leaning towards running it if I sell the SRT, since bulkheads recently became available
. Would you run it or shelve it? It's not new, as it has some scratches on the chassis and some wear on the tires and spur gear, but it's a beautiful truck. My favorite RC of all-time, I think.

Re: My Team Losi XXT
I voted to run it.. what I would do is grab the repro bulkhead (or a couple) and swap out the hydra drive to a double slipper to save the nice original parts (harder to find hydra drive parts).. run it and enjoy it... later you can pick another one up and build your shelfer with the nice parts (originals are hard to find)... my suggestion..

Re: My Team Losi XXT
Yeah, it's definitely an original XXT. I had a CR graphite plus back in '98. Wish I never sold any of my old trucks...
I've done a little research on the parts needed to convert the old HydraDrive to a dual slipper, but can anybody list them out for me? I've read that the XXXT slipper will work, but what parts would I need? Thanks in advance!

Definitely use the new bulkheads. By a couple or ten for spares even.

I voted to run it too (Seems no one has voted to shelve it yet?
) These trucks really make great runners... the only thing I would suggest is that you have a go at running it on a proper R/C track, the only problem with a race spec vehicle like the XXT is that they handle so well that they can quickly become quite boring just running it in an open area.

I would definitely race it. I just don't want to break something I can't replace or replace fairly cheaply. I honestly believe that there hasn't been much improvement since the XXT. I this and the RC10T are the two trucks that have defined stadium trucks.
Re: My Team Losi XXT
im pretty sure you could use a 22 slipper assembly as well.

just be sure the spur is not the new hds one...however that gets me thinking, perhaps you could use the new hds slipper from the 22 2.0 hmmm
