Looking for Ideas/Resources - 80's Style

Hey all!

I am working on rebuilding my short-arm RC10 for some fun racing. I am keeping almost all stock and am doing it just for the laughs. I loved these things back in the day, so I figured it would be a fun way to get back into racing. Anyway, I got a Protech body for it and I really want it to have that vintage feel. The problem is that I am having a hard time coming up with something good. I've checked around for vintage decals, but there is a pretty limited selection. The only ones I have found are the Autographics ones on ebay. Anyway, I don't want to do a replica of any particular car, but I would love it if you guys could help me out with some inspiration. Do you have any ideas, pics, etc that might fire up my creativity? Thanks for any help!

Neon. Pipe-style lines. Zig-zags. Splashes/splotches.

Look at RC Car Action back issues and pull some ideas from there.

It was the heyday of RC...tons of pics out!
