My Vintage A&L RC10

Hi guys,

I want to show you my newest project: a modified RC10 A stamp chassis with A&L trailing arm conversion.

I got this chassis a few month ago from a forum member (I can't remember who it was!??). First I wanted just to restore it and run it. I disassembled the car and re-anodized all the chassis parts but then I never touched it again. Meanwhile i came across a NIP A&L RC10C1 conversion kit and I think my B-stamp chassis is simply perfect for this modification.

I want to build a period correct car so first I just have some questions before I start to assemble the whole thing:

- What would be period correct on a b-stamp with 6gear and A&L conversion kit: narrow or large arms on the front?
- Would be the neon yellow/green A&L bell cranks period correct or should I look after the alloy bell cranks?

I already modified the chassis. I made the slots after anodising because I was not planing using the A&L conversion kit on this one.

Looks like an excellent start to a fun build. I have always really liked the trailing arm kits and have built a few. Thinking you could go either way with the bell cranks / A-arms and still be period correct but some of the other guys on the thread but know better. I kind of like matching up aftermarket parts on builds so it might be cool to go full A&L with the bell cranks and their transmission. If I can find a picture of my buggy I'll post it up. Here is my stadium truck that is more old school / stock with the short a-arms and the losi bell cranks

Nice truck! I want to build something similar as buggy! The A&L transmission could be an later update on this car, we'll see

I used the mill for precision/perfection but using a dremel works also very fine. I modified the front nose plate and motor plate with the dremel

That's what I'm planging b-stamp chassis with 6gear transmission (one day maybe with the A&L transmission), small arms, first generation 3piece wheels, gold shocks...

Hi guys,

A lot of parts have been ordered and are on the way to me so there will be more progress in next days!

I just have 2 questions concerning the body:

Which body would be period correct? Protech body? Sidewinder? Intruder? I also saw a Jamin Jay Jumper (tbg repro) body...looks pretty cool too. Many options, i know, but I has to be period correct.

The A&L conversion kit comes with bullet aluminium wing mounts, so wing tubes are not necessary... so I just wonder how the body has to be modified/trimmed on the rear part?

Just asking because I can't find pix...

It's too late my friend it's not a problem for me because i got these parts "for free" with a parts lot. I was not planing using them till I decided to start this project. Otherwise these parts would lying around as I'm not such a big fan of early rc10's they came very well because I only wanted to use original parts and no re-re china pars I just had to buy a set of origi nal arms because the old ones were in bad shape, gold shocks and a gear cover. The only re-re parts on this cars will be the battery cup, body mounts and tires till I can find some old school tires

Made some progress today...and a lot of picutres for you guys






Rebuild the 6gear transmission, now equipped with ball bearings

Then started mounting the rear A&L arms











Tomorrow's to do list :

- trim the battery cup
- trim the Parma gear cover
- shocks and turnbuckles
- check what electronics I have lying around

...then it's almost done just the body and tires right now I think I will order the Intruder (TBG repro) body
