1. Steering: I need all the space I can get on a GT pan build. But I need higher torque (over 100 would be nice).
2. Voltage: Most servos I'm looking at say "ideal for 7.4v lipo." Will I kill the servo on 11.1 3s?
3. Throttle: Can I buy too fast of a servo and flood out a nitro car? Engines will be OS CV-R .12 and .15's. Is there a servo speed I should match to the engines?
Any recommendations for 1/10 off-road micro servos for steering? Should I even worry about rev speed? Thank you very much.
Welp, as I learned in the thread just next to this one, Savox servos have a habit of glitching due to their high current draw. Hitec makes a shorty, HS77BB. It's in one of my RC10 buggies, and has been working just fine for some time now.
If you actually want the ones that are shorter end-to-end, I can't help ya there.
I finished steering servo shopping for RC10 runner. There are a load of threads on this board on ins and outs of Lipo and Brushless modern amenities for the vintage runners. But not a whole lot on servos frankly. These days you can get metal gears...

I havent bought a new servo in, 15~20 years (outside of ones in cars I have bought used). I still have my 3 Airtronics 94258/94358 analog monsters. Super quick and very powerful, I run them in my JRX, RC10 and Short Course truck. Recently I went to...
Lucky eBay purchase last week. Only bidder so got it for around 10dollars(!) I already had the Shinwa Motor Dresser dyno and the super-rare Rolling Road from new back in the day so this completes the set!
Looks mint and even comes with the original...

Wow! I remember the motor checker, but I’ve never seen one of those rolling roads before. Thank you for posting.
I recently purchased an RC10 Goldpan roller which was in bad condition and only partially built. Most of the parts and bolts etc came in a zip lock bag but there wasn't a build manual. I've downloaded some instructions but I'm struggling to...
I have a couple new Tamiya kits that include this motor and was wondering if they require any kind of break-in procedure -- the manual doesn't mention it.
I'd like to run the cars in box-stock configuration and want the best possible performance...
So I am running my Rc10t with the turnigy 1258tg with a reported 13.5 kg of torque.
At a complete standstill on pavement the front wheels are challenged and don’t fully turn. When driving it seems fine.
Should the wheels freely, or fully, turn...

The problem was the second servo saver I was using. I was using servo an older kimbrough servo saver instead of a servo horn. I swapped up to a standard piece of plastic and all is well now.
But it sounds like anywhere from 5-10 kg is going to be...
My old servo is now broke but has no label on it so I could get a reference point of it's specs. Just getting back into using it from a 3 year absence. Any suggestions on what to get? I race now and then and also practice at the track.

I have not been able to test the servo out on the track, but I have to say, this thing is FAST!
I started off wanting a mostly aluminum car that would be a good driver (possibly a contradiction). Weight became an immediate issue for every component of the car. I beefed up the steering because the original set up had a terrible radius and...

I tried getting away with cheapo servos when I first found rc10talk and got a gold pan up and running. I think I had a bag of recycled Futaba 1980s marginal servos for their day that I got on ebay. They were all piss poor with lazy effort for my...
Hello,Iam currently installing the torque splitter option for the 2011 re release Avante.I have the ball diffs installed and went to put in the one way assembly and noticed slop in between the spur/counter gear and the next gear inline.I installed...

Hmmm...I have only run my Avante 2011 with the center diff, so I can't really say. Maybe the spur/counter with the one way that you have came from a defective mold?
