Re: Losi XX Kinwald Trinity build
I made a few changes and improvements to my baby. I swapped the blue aluminum Trinity battery brace for a Jammin carbon fiber brace. I also changed out the front bumper for a RPM unit.
I forgot to take pictures of the 2 parts in their packaging before I opened them. I like to include those photos for reference.
I like how the RPM bumper is thinner and longer than stock. I think it looks nice on the buggy.
I also removed the plastic on the wing and added a few decals. I just need to pull the trigger on painting the body finally!

Re: Losi XX Kinwald Trinity build
Absolutely fantastic!
I had no idea there actually where that many hop-up parts for the XX.
But why titanium screws for the transmission housing? I used aluminium (or aluminum as you say in the US) screws bitd.
Aluminium is about half the weight of titanium. So you should use alu when you can get away with it strength wise.
Just teasing!
Impressive XX!

Re: Losi XX Kinwald Trinity build
One more little addition I just completed was the addition of the Losi rear sway bar. I originally left it off for clean aesthetics, but I think I prefer it on.

Another beautiful build. Where do you source all these rare parts? Just Ebay? Some super-secret store? And what do you use for a backdrop? Your photos are always so clean. Thanks, always inspired.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald Trinity build
^ Thanks. Finding the parts takes a lot of time, connections, and sometimes a lot of money. I use a light box for the photos. It makes it easy.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald Trinity build
I added this cut out motor plate onto this car. I think it fits it well. I also changed the outdrives to polished MIP litedrives.

I reckon he has a time machine and he travels but in time when ever he’s doing a build….. it can be the only explanation.mikesofunny wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 3:22 am Another beautiful build. Re: Losi XX Kinwald Trinity build
^ Lol thanks Retro rc. I've spent a lot of time and money sourcing all these parts.
Here is a small update to this build. I added these vintage aluminum wing mounts. I've been meaning to make this change for a long time but just couldn't decide how I wanted it. It looks like such a simple setup, but it took quite awhile to get it just right. I prefer it to the stock setup for aesthetics, but its also much more secure this way.
Paint and electronics are all that's left.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald Trinity build
That's a cool way to mount the wing, looks spot on. I assume you have to undo the grub screws and slide off the wing to get the shell off? Cant see the rear of the shell fitting between the tower and wing!
Also like that you have smoothed off the tower where the original wire should be - nice touch!

Re: Losi XX Kinwald Trinity build
I finally got a body painted for this car. It didn't turn out exactly how I wanted, but I think it looks pretty good. I wanted a blue fade, starting at the first silver line, that fades into the white. It accidentally got left off, so I ordered some blue pinstripe tape and added it. It's not as good, but adds some needed blue to the design.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald Trinity build
I never really intended to add electronics to this build, as I liked how clean it looked without them, but I had to give it a try.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald Trinity build
Excellent build, its a beauty. Would also look killer with blue wheels, but the black is just as good or better. Indeed it's much better with electronics in my opinion, especially with what's chosen, fantastic. Anything for a servo?

Re: Losi XX Kinwald Trinity build
Thanks so much! I am going to use a period appropriate Airtronics servo. I had one I thought was a good fit, but was actually too new for the period, so I am hunting again.
