Hi everyone. Like many kids growing up in the 80s, I dreamed of owning the "ultimate" race buggy, an RC10. I've messed around with modern RC cars with my kids, but they don't have the same feel of the vintage cars.
By chance, I met a guy with an impressive RC collection recently. Seeing some of his cars, including a few RC10s, it got my juices flowing.
I started looking around for an RC10 that I could build and enjoy. I came across one local to me that ticked the boxes.
I'm very excited to share my new to me RC10 on the forum. I'll start a post in the RC10 thread to ask for help figuring out what's original on the car and gain more knowledge on these awesome buggies.
Well sort of new, it was given to me by my brother-in-law 3 years ago, after sitting in a box in his garage for 20 years. I didn't have any interest in it, so it sat on a shelf in my basement until now. From what I can tell, it's the Cadillac...

I just bought a Traxxas Stampede 4 x 4 with lipos and I'd like the RC10 to be able to keep up with it. Brushless and lipos seemed to be the only way. I've had a number of people say to keep it original. But, I figure I can always put the original...
This is my original RC10 with D&D Graohite chassis plate that I bought back in the day as a school kid that worked my guts off to save for this piece of history. It was so expensive for me that I decided never to use it other than to make sure it...

It's fun blowing off the dust form the old stuff sitting in the basement.

I haven’t touched it yet. I’ve been working 70hrs per week.
I’m hoping to tear it apart soon to inspect everything.
I know for sure I need a spur gear, flywheel, clutch system, and clutch bell. Motor mount and possibly a new chassis.
Hi everyone. I'm glad to have found your forum. I've been cruising around it for the past few days absorbing some info.
I'm 36 and grew up with a Galaxy car. I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with it, but it was similar in quality I guess you...

Welcome to the board – and back to the hobby!
My return to the hobby had a lot to do with having my son, too. He started driving when he was about 3 with a 10T truck I cobbled together. It’s been a great bonding opportunity for us.
