Traxxas, advertising what was new for nitro in 1999, while displaying no vehicles actually released in 1999:
Nitro Buggy: Introduced in 1993 the Nitro Buggy was a platform shared 1/10 2wd off-road buggy based on the Nitro Hawk stadium truck. Changes were minor compared to the truck version and included shorter rear arms, shorter front shocks and fiberglass shock tower, different castor blocks, new front bumper, buggy specific wheels, tires, and lexan body with a separately attached cosmetic roll cage. Available in kit, ARR, and RTR versions.
Nitro Street: Released in 1993 the Nitro Street was a 1/10 2wd on-road sedan version of the Nitro Buggy. Sharing the same platform the Nitro buggy it received only a shorter fiberglass shock tower, shorter front shocks and new front bumper in order to mount the sports car inspired body and 2.1 wheels with street slick tires. Available in kit, ARR, and RTR versions.
Monster Buggy: Unveiled in 1993 the Monster buggy was a 1/6 scale 2wd buggy powered by a Mitsubishi TL26 2-stroke motor. It featured an aluminum chassis with raised rails and a 30-degree kickup, black plastic 4-wheel independent suspension with camber adjustable double a-arms up front and lower a-arm/ turnbuckle upper camber link in the rear. Shocks were oil-filled hard anodized aluminum coilovers supported by aluminum plate shock towers. A planetary geared transmission with dogbone axles sent power to the rear while dual quarter scale servos controlled the steering up front. A three-piece wing/plastic roll cage/lexan body, full bearings, 4.5in white plastic wheels with stubbie rear tires and ribbed front tires rounded this preassembled kit, less radio system.
Nitro 4-Tec: Debuted in 1998 the Nitro 4-Tec was a 1/10 4wd touring car powered by Traxxas' TRX Pro 15 engine with oversized blue anodized aluminum cylinder head, big bore rotary carb, high/low mixture needles, tuned plastic exhaust pipe and onboard electric starter. Drivetrain included a ball bearing supported clutch bell, two-speed transmission, triple belt drive system, and planetary diffs. Chassis was 2.5mm thick blue anodized aluminum main plate, molded plastic upper deck, double a-arm/pillow block and c-hub 4-wheel independent suspension. Came with silver mesh wheels, Pro-Line V-Rage tires, full bearings and supercar style body. Available as an RTR with a TQ radio system, fully assembled less radio, or unassembled without radio, engine, or body.
Nitro Vee: Launched in 1995 the Nitro Vee was a 31 inch long deep vee hulled boat with a water cooled/electric start TRX PRO 15 motor, return-to-shore electric motor backup, and inline clutch that allowed the boat to stop on the water with the engine running.
