Interesting

Post by Halgar »

Funny how you're surfing the net, looking for something in particular when something else catches your eye. I was looking at my avitar earlier and decided I wanted to do something different, since I don't have the original image, off to the net I go.

Google - Image - Ostrich Beak

And I find this. It has the image I'm looking for, but then below it is an interesting and quite humorous blog entry from a paramedic concerning this strangely curious creature.

Enjoy

Ya know, I got to thinking a while after I posted it that it wasn't a very "good" story, in that two people were maimed and killed. That is certainly NOT what I found humorous, and I apologize for that mistake. What was funny was the account of the bird itself and the interaction with the paramedic's peers.

i wanna know more about what they were doing to get killed by an ostrich in the first place?

if i were told somebodies parents were killed by a ostrich, i dunno if i could keep from cracking up or taking it seriously. i knew somebody way back when who killed his dad and hid him in the woodpile when he was a kid... when he told me i didnt think he was at all serious.

This is the first that I've heard that ostrich were territorial or aggressive. My guess is that they saw the birds and stopped to admire them when they were attacked. Who knows, facts get distorted when people think they'll get in trouble.
