At the end of 1997 Tamiya unleashed a 1/10 4wd electric weapon onto the Touring Car world with the release of the TA03F Pro David Jun Edition. Based off of the standard wheelbase front motor TA03F the Jun Edition included a significant array of factory Hop Up’s. Gone was the molded plastic tub and in its place was a double deck carbon fiber plate chassis. The familiar lower H-arm and fixed camber link four wheel independent suspension was fit with aluminum ball studs and dampened on each corner by oil-filled aluminum bodied coilver CVA shocks with clip in spring spacers fixed at both ends to low profile molded plastic shock towers. The twin bellcrank steering system with molded plastic center link, spherical end tie rods and direct mounted servo saver also received aluminum ball studs plus a pair of front and rear sway bars were added for even greater corner carving ability. A new molded plastic mount held the transverse battery in the same position as a standard TA03F chassis and the 540 motor, which now sported an aluminum heat sink, was hung once again off the nose of the car ahead of the front axle line. Gear diffs were replaced with bottom loading ball differentials front and rear, sharing space inside the gearboxes with lighter aluminum counter gears and carbon fiber shafts. An armid reinforced belt connected the drivetrain and universal joints took the dogbones place at each corner, passing through aluminum hubs and carriers before ending with a set of 12mm hex drives. Black single piece five spoke plastic wheels and rubber slicks were included with the unassembled kit, as was a full set of bearings, though a motor, electronics, and body were not:
