Farewell to the Queen

Post by Tadracket »

Well, it's finally done. I have been painting the body of my shelfer with the no name Novak for her new owner. It still needs a little tweaking, she is not perfect. But this has been a fun project. I hope you all like it.

Erich, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed building it.

Tad,

I thought you unloaded that "work of perfection" on epay months ago. How did it work that you kept it and painted a body for it too? Did the buyer pay extra?

Very nice work though. I dont think you could have created a more perfect example.

The single best replica paint job I have seen yet :D What shade did you use for the main body?

Things went south on eBay. As the lead bidder pulled out, the second in command went another route and had to forfeit the lead. It was a real ;...(

Erich made me a very nice offer, so I took it. And I charged him $20 to paint the body :D

Before anyone asks, I will do another and no I will not do it for $20

Thanks for the compliments JP.

Thanks to you all for the wonderful compliments. I appreciate them very much.

BTracer, I use all Parma paints with the excepting of a couple Creatix mixes I have made. The main body was done with Fasorange #40007 straight from the bottle. It is a little darker than the box car. Next car, I will add a touch of white to lighten it up some and probably back it with white once it is painted. Could be a mistake, but that is how I learn.

Thanks for the compliment Psy. I had been using Blazing Saddle quotes for years on all the boards I use to frequent. I thought it was a time for a change. The Avatar is next. Maybe I'll build an avatar (dramatic pause) out of a Deloreon.

I made them using illustrator to trace the originals and the wifes cricut to cut the vinyl.
