Has anyone found a viable solution to the cracked shock collars on the early Ultima red shocks?
I've restored and own a Turbo Ultima,a Triumph,a Turbo Mid SE & a Turbo Mid SP,but they all have gold & platinum shocks...A rather sad little 1st gen...

yup....Raider shock collars and cups are the best replacement. Different plastic material that doesn't crack or fade. The ones off of the gallop work also.

Hi, does anyone have any info on these shocks, I bought them a while ago, built them (typical Kyosho high quality shocks IMHO), and am now wondering what they may ave been on. I've been told that they may have been off of one of the Lazer models, am...

Didn't those debut on the Ultima RB Type R?....and the truck version?

In 94 they were being tested on the zxs evo protos but they were on my RB type r when it was sent to me when it was released. They did have orange or gold coloured versions...

Are there any tips to tuning or working over Platinum shocks to make them work as well as golds? I have a Turbo Ultima with 20wt in the rear and 40wt in the front (going to 20). The front has the stock springs and I've put some Losi light springs in...

There's a reason why they were so short-lived ;)

Now if you car hops around helplessly, if it's on the flat, try thicker oil, if ok on the flat but hoping when landing jumps, try to set the pistons with less flow :)

That is also my opinion, that the S versions should fit. I hope the diameters for the screws etc. are identical.
Also good to know the size in inch. I was always looking for mm.
I will stay with the S Version at the rear side....
