Need some help ID'ing some gears and a diff
Hi all,
I've got 3 things I need some help ID'ing.
First is a set of brass gears that look similar to a picture I've got of the MIP 4-10 transmission gears but I'd like to be sure. They are a metric pitch and have metric hardware...would they be for a Sand Scorcher by chance....?
Second is a Trinity diff pulley/gear with balls and a small bearing. This one's really strange, it's cut like a normal gear but it's got a rectangular valley down the center of it like a pulley for a belt...never seen anything like it.
Third is an MIP/Thorp differential (if memory serves) but I have no idea what vehicle it's for. The gear is 48 pitch and is much larger than a 2.25:1 Stealth diff as you can see from the picture. The outdrives fit a 5mm ID bearing.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Adam

Re: Need some help ID'ing some gears and a diff
Matey,
The big white Trinity gear with the bearing seems to be a front diff gear for a Schumacher Cat/XLS/ProCat. Take a look here http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=34127&sid=154, bottom picture.
I'm sure others will help with the other two lots...

Re: Need some help ID'ing some gears and a diff
I'm thinking the dif set with the white gear next to the associated dif is a traxxas proball dif. It should have flats on both sides of the output shafts and should either be a 45 or a 60 tooth dif gear. If you pull the 3 bolts off the output shaft showing there should be a stack of 7 items down under like a straight screwdriver head. Should be a thrust bearing with grooved washers on both sides then 4 bellville washers. Should be 12 diff balls inside. If you find these this is proball diff by traxxas...just a guess but just finished putting one together and looks alot like it. Are these heading to the b/s/t area?

Yeah, Actually now that I look at it the bottom brass gear on the left looks to be traxxas also. Compare outdrive flats with the traxxas dif of mine...er...yours. It should have flats on both sides again. Looks alot like the Traxxas #1783 gear brass outdrive(48 pitch). The others not so sure about...

In the pic with the screws in it..
The gear at the top left is the input shaft and gear from the Tamiys SRB series of cars..(i.e. Scorcher, Ranger, Rough Rider and SuperChamp.)
Cheers
