Paragon, WD-40, suntan oil...

The best thing is to keep them away from air or sunlight. I store mine off the car in ziplock bags treated with a little tire tweak. I also have some dried/split/worn tires with bicycle innertube "caps" which look great on the shelf.

Gojo hand cleaner works well... or any non-pumice hand cleaner with Lanolin. And Ziplocks are a must. Tires (rubber and foam) deteriorate with ozone and UV light. Keep them out of the light and away from the air and they stay fresh forever. If they are on cars, though, an application of hand cleaner or suntan lotion every once in a while works very well.

Best tip I can give you is to not store them in cardboard boxes or anything that absorbs moisture. This will dry the tires out and cause them to crack. As suggested above - store them in a plastic zip loc bag - with a little suntan lotion 9thats what I use) - this keeps them nice and soft.

Cheers

Temple, how do you wrap your tires with those bike tubes? I am interested in doing that to my RC12i, tires are going to hell with cracks.

Old 10-speed or skinny MTB tubes, stretch 'em on and trim with sharp small Fiskar scissors or a new #11 Exacto that's been lubed with dishwashing liquid. The unstretched diameter of the innertube should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the bare wheel.

You've had to run a set of these booties, how'd they work?

I learned that trick from ones older and wiser than me. It's an old concrete track trick, although they would glue the innertubes to the foams (soaked in lacquer thinner) with contact cement.

Ahha, so that's how it works! I will have to try it out

On a side note back to the suntan lotion. Is there any specific trick to this method or is it just 'it puts the lotion on its skin' and then wipe off?
