WEST COAST VINTAGE RACE PLANNING STAGE
Hi Guys
I am working on a west coast vintage race were we can run/race our on-road and off-road cars at the same event.
More info to follow. I need to know if anyone would travel to AZ for this event? I also am looking at dates with the track owner and I am thinking sometime between Febuary and May 2009 or Between September and Novemebr 2009 that will give us great weather here in AZ when the rest of the country is hidding in the basement.
if anyone has any suggestions regarding dates and classes and anything please post here.
Bill C.

Re: WEST COAST VINTAGE RACE PLANNING STAGE
Bill- We have friends in AZ and I may be able to convince the wife & family to take a trip out there! We'd stay in Queen Creek-- where is the possible track? Right now the best price flights are earlier Feb, but that may be changing soon as the airlines are cutting their rates in an attempt to get people back in the air. Also, did you carry on any batteries or rc stuff? I'm just thinking about travelling with items that look like I'm making a bomb!
If I recall you shipped stuff to CT and that would ultimately be an option as well.
As far as timing I personally would have a better shot at a spring event, but I'm only a definite maybe!
Also the VONats are tentatively scheduled in Sept, so that may stop some East Coast folk from doing 2 events so close together.
Good luck with this!

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

AZ isn't bad. Phoenix area would be best as I can get out there in less than 5 hours.

I might be interested in going. I haven't raced ever in my life no track to run on out here but I'd like to go watch if I can get time off on the weekend.

Re: WEST COAST VINTAGE RACE PLANNING STAGE
Bill, not wanting to dampen your planning....
Tonight @ Pegasus Hobbies, the race director busted out his almost mint JRX2 and took about 5 laps on the track. So I approached him about setting up a vintage only race, and well, it is underway. We are talking about early January. The classes may be very close to the VONATS rules. We discussed grouping the race level cars by generation...B2/B3 with the XX, RC10 with JRX2, RC10CE with JRX Pro....as ideas only.
More info as it comes out.

Hey Joey, was it James' jrx2? I spoke to him recently about a vintage race at Pegs too and he seemed thrilled by the idea of having one there, especially with the slash layout.

Re: WEST COAST VINTAGE RACE PLANNING STAGE
SoCal would get my vote (actualy NorCal would be even better-say Sacramento. Lakeport, Antioch, or Union City???). Az's too dang far...
Eccentric
When did my hobbies become "Old" and "Vintage"???
-RPS Yokomo SE. Novak T4. Revolution stock. Hot Trick dual front shock setup.
-Kyosho Circuit-10 Wildcat Buggy
-Kyosho Nimitz-06. Now that's obscure!
