My AE Trucks
I have some Pics of this Truck mixed in with one of my Build Threads, but since the Site has been Divided Up, I hope its ok to start a seperate, personal TrucK Thread.
And hopefully seeing this 99.9% complete Truck will spark some pity from someone out there with those DAMN Rear Body Posts I NEED to Finish This Up, LOL.
Feel free to point out any msitakes I may have made. I used those Rear Tires because they reminded me of the Old Buggy Tires.
And This is the Body I'll be using, IF I ever get those Stinkin Rear Body Posts!!!
Try to get some of the T3s up soon.

Re: My AE Trucks
I can't tell from the pics but are those gold shocks? the team truck came with the graphite tranny brace and teflon team shocks. looks good though. Just get some RPM body mounts as they were available right after the 10t came out since the stock ones never lasted very long. I took some old aluminum axles and made rear mount "nubs" for my GT but it takes a pretty hard beating the way I drive

Re: My AE Trucks
Well, Im "calling it" a 7011. I got it Used, and it came with the Graphite Trans Brace, so I guess he Upgraded some. There was NO Speed Control, and Im gonna Run it some, so an ESC will be installed. It also came with the Gold Shocks, but I put the Black Aluminum Caps on there, because I like them, hehe.
I could see me making some Body Posts out of Al. back then, if the Stockers didnt work well. Technically, wouldnt that still make it Period Correct??
Now that I think about it, this could have been put in my 10T Questions Thread (probably BETTER there). Mods, please feel free to move this whole thing there.

Re: My AE Trucks
You can get those little posts made from aluminum ready-made. I can't recall what company sells them, but they are out there, I have a set. I have also used Traxxas battery hold down post for the same thing and they work well too. The Traxxas peices are hex shaped and made out of steel and chromed. They are the ones used on a the Bandit, Stampede, Rustler, etc.
I thiink you could probably make some white nylon ones from a spare white part. I was going to try it but never did.

Hey Killa, I would really like a set of those body posts. Let me know if you can spare a set after you talk to Monster about it.

Re: My AE Trucks
Sorry, I should have answered by now. Im not interested in the RPM Mounts. If it not Stock AE Parts, I think I'll just settle for what I can make. You know, if it aint what I REALLY want, doesnt really matter what it is. Already cut a couple Black Plastic Post I had layin around, drilled, and mounted them.
Its not my best work, I could have mounted it 1/4 to 1/2 inch further back. I Relocated a few Stickers to better spots, and did a little of my Creative Colored Electrical Taping for all the Lights, Grill, and Hood Vents. It mounted Lower than I expected, but THAT was much to my delight. I even had to RAISE the Front Mounts to get it like that. Well, here it is!!!

Re: My AE Trucks
That is my problem also, hehe. I didnt "like" doing it the way I did, but I HAD to see that Body Mounted. I can wait a bit longer for what I really want now. Im REALLY happy with the way it came out. Now, I dont know how much Im gonna Run it. Had planned to make it my Main Runner, but it just looks soo nice. Maybe I can get a better pic soon. I may be "biased", but I dont think these do it justice.JK Racing wrote:i gave up on finding the wihte "nubs" and bought the black ones, they are still in the package, i just couldnt do it.

Re: My AE Trucks
I wish I could find one of those nissan bodies, looks great!
I made some rear mounts out of delrin rod pretty much the same dimensions as standard just a bit thicker and so far i've ripped a body to shreds and the mounts are still there
