New here, have a JRXT shipping to me
New here, have a JRXT shipping to me
Hi all,
New to the site. I just bought a used Gold Pan (posted over in that section as well) and also got a Used JRXT in a 2 truck auction off of eBay. I really don't have good photos of the truck, but was told it was ok and works fine, so hopefully will have no issues. I can make back more than I paid with the 2nd XXX-NT that was also in the auction, so basicly a free JRXT out of the deal.
I would prefer a 5-link Jrx2, as that is what I had back in 88 when it came out. Is it worthwhile to convert a JRXT to a JRX2, or are there too many parts that are different ?

Take off the truck body mounts, and put a buggy body on there...oh, and change the tires...POOF, you have a JRX2.

Aren't the arms a bit wider?JK Racing wrote:Take off the truck body mounts, and put a buggy body on there...oh, and change the tires...POOF, you have a JRX2.
Here is really the only photo I have of the truck.

It was a 2 truck auction I won for $80 that also included a RTR Losi XXX-NT .....both trucks were stated ready to run except for a broken shock tower on the XXX-NT that I can fix. I plan on possibly cleaning up the XXX-NT and selling to offset the purchase price of the JRXT, which is what I really wanted.

If it's a JRX2 you're after,I have a spare JRX2,with the 5 link rear suspension,in slightly better condition than your truck that I'd be willing to trade for your JRXT...

Joey-The truck chassis is longer and has more kick up in the nose than a JRX2 buggy.
Same chassis as a JRX Pro.

Holy power drill crazy WTF
Make sure to see under the covers before you buy!
Well, I paid 80 for this AND a XXX-T RTR both with electronics, so I complain too bad.
Maybe I can clean it up and put some of that carbon fiber sheet sticker on both sides......I'm just going to have this
sit on a shelf....that was the intention all along.
Other ideas to clean up the chassis?

you'd still have to fill the holes before you'd put a decal over the chassis. if not, you'll still see where every hole is. get some 2 part epoxy. put some tape over one side of the chassis (top, bottom, doesn't matter). now fill all of the holes (not the factory holes
) with the epoxy from the other side. leave a little mount of epoxy there. once it's cured, take a razor blade and shave the mound off. the tape side should be nice and smooth after you pull it off. give it a quick sanding, wash it off, and lay on the decal. also, make sure you poke the holes through in the decal on one side before doing the other. no sense in having to hunt for them.

Re: New here, have a JRXT shipping to me
that method works great I have done both of my Jrx 2 chassis like that except the decal I just painted them with flat black piss can I think they look ok? this one was bad it had runners also plus lots of holes I need to repaint it but it will due. this is the first one I tryed the second one looks much better so I am going to redo this one.scr8p wrote:you'd still have to fill the holes before you'd put a decal over the chassis. if not, you'll still see where every hole is. get some 2 part epoxy. put some tape over one side of the chassis (top, bottom, doesn't matter). now fill all of the holes (not the factory holes) with the epoxy from the other side. leave a little mount of epoxy there. once it's cured, take a razor blade and shave the mound off. the tape side should be nice and smooth after you pull it off. give it a quick sanding, wash it off, and lay on the decal. also, make sure you poke the holes through in the decal on one side before doing the other. no sense in having to hunt for them.

Re: New here, have a JRXT shipping to me
Just be careful with how much paint you put on it? As you can see in the pic I made it to thick and didnt recounter sink the holes so it lifted around the screws. I used primer and everything, the other one I am working on I did a better prep and no primer, just light paint and it looks much better. I dont have any pictures of that one.
