i can't stand the design abortion GM on a car with the camaro name. but this looks pretty freakin' awesome. although, it would've looked better done up in smokey yunik colors.

Not true, they were first in line for the government handouts, they'll do just fine. What will be interesting is to see if the government holds them accountable for the funds given them, unlike the mortgage bail-out where the big brass went on a junket with their portion of the handout.bearrickster wrote:It doesnt matter GM is going bankrupt dought they will make them anyway![]()
I personally would like to see more good retro styling such as the Camero, the current Mustang and even the Dodge Magnum. You can only look at the late model econo-box bricks for so long before you start longing for something with a little inspiration involved. IMHO, all of the truck lines have been destroyed by lack of imagination. While I'll admit that it took me a while to warm up to the body change that GM did in the early 80's with their trucks, it did turn out to be a nice design, now they've tried to knock of the Ford trucks with the boxy square junk. Hate them!

Re: alright...............
that car is cool, but nowhere close to the original. it just looks bloated like a blowfish. the new challenger too... all puffed up looking.
i dont know what the automakers are thinking when they wont make a new version of a car with the old body or one that was slightly updated.
this is what the new camaro should have been more like imho...
out of all the cars when i was young, besides the quadra duece, big red was IT.... imho, if gm just simply made an updated version that looked kinda like big red they woulda knocked it out of the park. i would love to see this car run. i almost forgot all about it until now.
bigred.com has a few pretty cool vids. that car is a monster...

Re: alright...............
On a similar note, they quit making the Corvette back in 1982. While there has been a line of cars with that badge, until now there's been no Corvette. Corvettes used to have sexy curves and very unique styling, unmistakable when you saw one, then they turned into an RX7 on steroids, then cloned some of the Italian iron horses - they weren't Corvettes. GM finally started putting some curves back into those hips and returning it to the beauty that it once was. It's still got a long way to go, IMHO, but it's far better looking today than just a year ago, let alone the past 25 years.MONSTER wrote:That Orange Car is COOL, but it still aint no "Camaro".
Sometimes I think that auto manufacturers forget why people buy their products, particularly muscle cars. Sure, what's under the hood and body is important, but without a beautiful shell, no one wants it.
