tires

Post by greazy »

What options are out there for the old small 3 piece rear wheel. I would like to have new tires for my shelfer project. I do not have to have the originals but smoething with that same type of spike tread would work. I have been out of the rc10 scene for a while but I thought they were 1.6 size....is this correct ?

Yes, 1.6" is correct. Best bet is eBay-- I've found decent deals on vintage aftermarket tires (Proline, CRP, Troll, etc), especially if you're not fixated on getting the originals. Good luck!
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

you should be able to squeeze some hornet or grasshopper rear tires over those rc10 rims.

I saw some like that on ebay and thought I buy them to see if they fit. Perfect for my copper top ride. they say 1.5 but figured I could stretch them on. Scr8p you ever tried it?

yes it works .. i did it with the tamiya grasshopper tires.
you have to cut away a small part of the inside. if you have a original tire next to a tamiya one you will know what i mean.
