What is the size of the Diff nut on a 6gear tranny

What is the size of the Diff adjust nut on the 6 gear tranny. its not 5-40 i just bought some and they're too small...Is it SAE or metric? Anyone know?

AHHH crap MY BAD...it is 5-40 I was scared to put the nut on the shaft fearing i'd strip the treads on the diff shaft...but i just tried it on an old wrecked one and you're right it works...Thanks for the help scr8p !!!

Is the diff nut the same as front axles? Start threads are boogered on my shaft and don't want to force that size on if its wrong.

hi guys new to this site and very excited to be a member with my new ride:) still waiting for delivery but i think i have a great car to start my collection off. im also a member on TC with my wildwilly m38 boxart. if anyone has anything they can...

looking good, I was thinking about blue for mine or maybe some old school colours for the retro look. i took it to the races on sat but they were racing on carpet and my tyres where no hope lol sliding every where. good for drifting the corners lol....

i saw this set up. it has a bearing on the diff mount/tube. the guy said, The slipper clutch has a bearing in the diff tube which I believe is a Losi diff tube . is this any good (aftermarket,or losi),has this been done before with no mods to trans...

What size is the nut driver for the real little nuts used on the ball studs on the B4 and other cars?

I should add for you 'chaps' benefit that these sizes are AF (across the flats). I know that 'your' imperial system has (had?) some other 'issues'...not all bad. :lol:

I just got a brand new never assembled 10t at a garage sale. The only problem is the guy took everything out of the bags. Luckily everything was there except one of the front wheel nuts. The guy (the one who knows his stuff) at the hobby store...

It's a 5-40 size nut. Like aconsola said, you can also use the nylon nuts and make it fit. Either way works well.

I apologize for what seems like such a simple stupid question! :roll:

I picked up a T4FT earlier today and dug a bit into it. I found the front wheels were held on with plastic nuts. From my quick research, the front threads should have been 4-40...

When I tighten the nuts on aluminum axles, I don't really even hold the nut driver tight. I just spin it with my finger tips. When it snugs up, I stop.

What size nut do I need to secure the front wheel/tire to the post? I have tried several that appear to fit but def. don't, it's for an original RC10T
