Re: RC10T2 rear axle help

As I expected, this works great! Ran around for about 15 minutes and not a single issue. Thanks for everyone's input :D

Re: RC10T2 rear axle help

So I got some 3/8" black heat shrink tubing and installed it tonight. Here are some pics for all that are interested. I will say that it seems to be a fantastic solution (so far :D ). It has a firm grip on the bell portion of the axle and it seems like it is going to work great. Also, it only t...

Re: RC10T2 rear axle help

My phone has been giving me fits so I am unable to post pics currently. I did get a rebuild kit just like the one you sent. I tested both screws and they both covered the hole to the point I could not slide the pin through. So I used the blue thread gel that came with the kit and so far only 1 has h...

Re: RC10T2 rear axle help

This is the second set of CVD's that I haven't been able to get right. I tighten the set screw as tight as I can but it doesn't seem to be making it all the way to the pin. I need a couple of new set screws for it since I tightened them so tight and I did use some team associated thread lock so it w...

Re: RC10T2 rear axle help

Now forgive me if I am to ally wrong here. Those look like the pins that hook into the wheels to drive them. I have those type of pins that drive the wheel amd solid pins that hold the axkle together. Will these also fit on the inside part of the axle? (The pin that connects the two axle pieces toge...

RC10T2 rear axle help

I have been running my T2 the past couple days and the rear axle pins keep coming out. I have read to put shrink wrap or a "drop" of CA glue on the ends of the pins to hold them in place. Are there any other suggestions that anyone else has tried?

Re: RC10T2 Gearing Question

I have a 32p 60t spur which is 49.21mm or a 48p 87t spur which is 47.1mm... does 2mm really make any difference?

Re: RC10T2 Gearing Question

So I went to the hobby shop today and I got a 60t 32p spur and a 12t 32p pinion. So thank you all for the help in getting me to understand the gearing. My next question is if the internals of the transmission are going to be able to withstand the power of the castle brushless system? Do I need to tr...

Re: RC10T2 Gearing Question

Thank you for the great info! I just thought a motor was a motor and had no idea they had different shaft sizes. Would there be any durability concerns if I were to stay with the 48p gears? It seems as though the 32p has larger teeth and would be less likely to strip.

Re: RC10T2 Gearing Question

So should I always keep my gearing at 2.6 to 1? That seems really low... I am relatively new to changing gears and things so bear with me with some of the questions. I was running a brushed system about 15 years ago with 87/22 setup and it seemed to work fine (I was never the fastest but it worked)....

Re: RC10T2 Gearing Question

<----- Impatient  .... If I just waited until the motor came, there is a Gearing Guide in the box for 1/10 scale stadium trucks. It says the proper pinion for 87t spur gear is 14-18. I am thinking I will go up a little to 19-20 to get a little more speed. Thank you all for the information and a...

Greetings from NorCal

Just getting back into the sport. I have a RC10T2 that I built when I was younger and have decided I want to restore it and upgrade it to current technology. Oh how things have changed in the 12 years I have been gone! Looking forward to the helpful advice because I know I will need it 8)

RC10T2 Gearing Question

Hello! I am getting back into the R/C world after about 10 years of being away. I am restoring my old T2 and I have purchased the Castle Creations 3800kv motor ESC combo and I am wondering what a range of gearing would be appropriate as to not overheat it. I have an 87T Spur gear (I believe that is ...

Re: Green carbon fiber hydro dipped RC10T chassis

How durable is that coating? I have a guy locally that does Hydro Dipping and I was thinking about getting my chassis done but was unsure as to the strength.

Re: T2 turnbuckles

Turnbuckles are still available on the Team Associated website (Blue or Black, I just ordered a set of the black). Just search for the part number (#7254 for the black turnbuckle set). If you Google "RC10T2 Parts List" Petit RC has a full parts list in pdf form for the RC10T2. Team Associa...
