A great body it is Damien, all cut and fitted, loving it clear but your right a paint scheme is needed to truly set it off.....

I'll defo be cutting and shutting the shell to fir as low as i can get it just looks fab done that way. Still not sure on a co...

Re: PB ACE - The Prototype
So whilst my CAD effort wasn't bad and I guess I was getting there very slowly but surely, however thankfully my buddy Wade Skelton was taking an interest and was soon onboard on track. He got the bug with the PB Mid Ace and we had a fair few discussions on the concept. Wade over in Texas built a fe...

Re: PB ACE - The Prototype
Fast forward a bit further and i started looking for more magazines images of PB Ace's being run and raced not only UK based which seemed thin on the ground but also over in Europe. Anyone remember that 80' band BTW  Scoured the web and came across a few mag features, spotted a few cars and the...

Re: PB ACE - The Prototype
Progress - I’ve found some real old pictures of what I believe to be the PB ACE Prototype with a PB ECO shell. Reason I thinks it’s the PB ACE and NOT the PB ECO is the livery as per the ace once released and position of the rear shocks on this car and also the front shock arrangement. I heard that ...

Re: PB buggies. Post your pics.
Ok here's a stock 2wd Mini Mustang, can't be many of these about, appears to have had very little use and will be treated to a clean and a fresh pair of rear tyres. The original tyres are super dried out, can only assume that the car has been stored and baked in a hot attic. Rest appears in good ove...

Re: PB ACE Shell Resto - Help
As the car paint seems to be stubborn and almost etched into the lexan I used the Carson and a fine abrasive pad rubbed them wiped with cotton wool. This seems to help although still have a cloudy white look to it. Gonna take some time to drag all of this colour off so little and often will be order...

Kyosho TOMs Build
Had a Kyosho Optima Mid as a kid and upgraded with a Brimod (stick pack) long wheel base chassis, was a great car and i was reasonably successful racing at my local club. I subsequently sold all cars as I moved on to mountain biking. All these years on, I thought it time to get back to it and build ...

UK - SRM Challenge Series - 1989
Hey looking for some assistance please, does anyone remember the SRM Challenge series? Specifically interested in the event that took place in 1989 Jan Feb or possibly March of that year. Searching for any race reports, info on the series, photographs from mags or if you were at the event itself. Be...

Re: PB ACE Shell Resto - Help
Have you tried Tamiya Polycarbonate Cleaner? Dunno if it's any better, worse, or the same as Carson but worth a shot? BoLink Body Wash was the best but sadly you can't get it any more unless you can find an old bottle somewhere. I started with the tamiya and it worked well taking the paint of the i...

Re: PB ACE Shell Resto - Help
I'm thinking, paint it red, with tape stripes on the outside...... that red fogging seems pretty bad. Could mix it up somewhat, with translucent red backed with something interesting.... but it doesn't look like much chance of being able to paint light colours on the inside. Interested to see where...

PB ACE Shell Resto - Help
Ok need some constructive advice please, not but a repro shell , I’m laboriously removing paint off an old PB Ace shell. It was painted both sides and on the outer it seems to be car paint. It’s coming of with Carson slowly however I previously used Tamiya to remove inner and ran out so tried n...

Re: My original CAT XL - freshly uncovered
Great pics and post, got to admit I'm schumacher less, always wanted one and will have to land something. BITD I had a standard optima mid which I converted to a LWB with the Brimod conversion. However the Cat XL / XLS was a real head turner for me, If i had more bucks from the paper round Saturday ...
