Re: Trying to troubleshoot my RC10 rebuild setup

Well........ My guesses: 1) New crystals are bad 2) Receiver is bad 3) Radio is bad It's really hard to diagnose without other ones to try. If you are interested, I'm sure I have a radio and receiver I could send you. And I will make sure it all works beforehand. Thanks man. Maybe it is the crystal...

scr8p wrote: Sun Dec 23, 2018 11:27 am Not that it would make a difference, but I think you have the plugs in the wrong slots. Steering is channel 1, 2 is for the ESC.
Ah thanks. I couldn’t remember which way round it was. Neither do anything though!

Re: Got my first RC10 - time for a re-build

So I received my crystals but can’t get anything to work yet! :(

Wondering if I should just buy some modern electronics to run this. I have a week off now for Christmas and would like to get it going. I should be able to buy something locally here. No idea about the new gear though.

Re: Got my first RC10 - time for a re-build

I didn't realize you where in Dubai! There's slight differences between the black Associated cover and the RPM, not that much though... A little "sleeker". gearcovers.jpg Yes, I use a forwarding service to get stuff from US or Uk. It works out a little expensive. There are a few RC shops ...

Re: Got my first RC10 - time for a re-build

I think the RPM cover was designed to clear the VTS clutch setup. I myself, for this car, would look to grab one of the rere covers from the Classic (if they're still available). Or an aftermarket one from OldRC. Oh man. Another part where I’ve bought the wrong thing. Didn’t know there was more tha...

Re: Got my first RC10 - time for a re-build

Looking great. What do you think of the RPM gear cover? I've always thought it was a little large compared to say, the World's re-release black cover. hmm, now you say that. Maybe it is. I’m not knowledgeable on these things like you guys. I just picked this up from AMain website. I didn’t realize ...

Re: Next Project for me, first RC10

I’d go with a full clean up first and see how it looks. Maybe better to embrace the pink as to change it you’ll be doing a lot of work.

Re: Got my first RC10 - time for a re-build

Rear arms on now and shocks. I didn’t fully rebuild the shocks, just cleaned them up on the outside, drained them and refilled with fresh oil. I think I should probably get new wheels and tyres if I’m going to run this thing. Any recs? I have the motor it game with, an Old ESC and Futaba radio, serv...

Re: Got my first RC10 - time for a re-build

Yes, if you are interested in an era correct upgrade just let me know. Otherwise sourcing parts from the rere rc10 classic shouldn’t be bad, but parts are drying up a bit Yes, so what would an era correct upgrade look like? The upgrade from Factory Works consist of a bellcrank set, crossmember (rep...

Re: Got my first RC10 - time for a re-build

Hi hibiki_45 and welcome to the forums. Really enjoying your resto build so far. There's just something about gold anno and white nylon that brings back happy memories for me. :D I also have the Factory Works steering upgrade on my runners and they're totally bullet proof. Although mine were made s...
