Re: RC10T Cliff Lett Edition Kit

I don’t want to get started on parts availability sucks my lhs doesn’t even want to order AE items because it’s a pain in the a**. I work at a hobby shop. Just buy directly from Team Associated. Associated sells and ships directly to customers before they even ship to distributors like Horizon or H...

Re: brushed ESC's- new vs old old tech

I ran a Tekin FX in our Tamiya torque-tuned motor turf off-road class, it's an excellent esc. The esc I like the most for running vintage brushed is the Tekin G12c III, definitely a super reliable esc even after all these years. The best part about it is the 5 amp bec, which is great for powering cu...

Re: 2025 RC10Talk.com Roostpalooza post race!

What discharge rate do they use? I find I get better performance from brushed 2s lipos with a 60c discharge rate 85c. It was in the 50's for temps, so I had a small heating pad for keeping mine and my friends batteries warm. Temperature has a huge effect on lipo performance, the C rating drops seve...

Re: 2025 RC10Talk.com Roostpalooza post race!

How often did you cut the comm? A lot of the vintage race guys are going brushed 27 turn on lipo. Are you running reduced rear antiquat? Oh yeah, I had a washer under the rear suspension mount for zero anitsquat. The motor was 177 degrees with a 21 tooth pinion after the first qualifier. So I check...

Re: Predictions for the RC hobby in 2035

By 2035 there will be exceptionally few commercial r/c tracks. Companies making high end, r/c racing products will be almost non-existent as 'professional' racing becomes irrelevant since consumer's purchases are no longer influenced by ingenuity, performance, or racing results - but by whichever di...

Re: ** 2025 RC10Talk.com Roostpalooza - April 12-13 - Insanity Race Track - Boonton, NJ **

I'm not sure why you guys want a soft compound tire for a loose packed, loam surface. Soft tires are to conform around small irregularities of a smoother, harder surface to get grip. On a loose packed, loam surface the pins need to penetrate and push against the dirt. On an extreme end, think about ...

Re: Economic Viability of an R/C Track

I don't think it is malicious. No one is hoping tracks lose money. I think people just don't appreciate what it takes to run a track. Also, when their own finances get tight, people are naturally going to drop out of things like RC racing. It's not malicious that they want a track to lose money, bu...

Re: Economic Viability of an R/C Track

Former hobby shop with track owner here. R/C car racers don’t want to pay the money it requires to operate an r/c track, period. R/C car racers are also venomously against a track making the owner enough profit to make the venture worthwhile. The land and the square footage is expensive. The insuran...
