Re: The Andy's Family................

yeah, it would be cool to have a 'garage' showroom, kinda like the tamiya club one.....but if you are interested enough in something, it's awesome that you can pretty much find it here.

Re: nice shocks

Hey, on that simple green comment there, I just had some 6 gear trans parts soaking in some simple green overnight. The outer diff hub which is just natural aluminum was sitting half in and out of the solution, it's got a noticable line now, where the fliud level was, so just be careful. It was also...

Re: what to change in a 6gear trans rebuild??

there are some scans in the scan section, for specifically tweaking/rebuilding the 6 gear. I believe one is by cliff lett, and there are others. bottom line is: clean ball bearings outdrive bearings file gears for rough casting/machining edges clean clean clean! there are some mods with regards to t...

Re: pictures

Momo nailed it. Pull the file from wherever (phone, camera, internet), open with paint, stretch it down (less than 100%), and then 'save as'. also gives you the option of changing BMP files to JPEG at the same time.

Re: Sanding RC10 Graphite chassis question(updated 3/4)

acetone should dissolve the CA, I doubt it will harm the epoxy in the carbon fiber, but test it in an inconspicuous spot first. Otherwise, lightly sand or file it until it's as flat as you want it to be. if you hold the file lightly, it will just take the high spots off. Patience is key here.

nose brace tube question

Can anyone tell me if these are 10T nose brace tubes or something else? They don't fit the standard gold pan. I have them, no idea from where, although when I was getting out of the hobby, it was right around the time the newer rc10's were being released, so maybe a worlds nose brace tube? (that is ...

Re: Help identify this 4wd buggy/truck

darn, sorry for that.

in that case, maybe your best bet is to try and use a longer screw or something similar to get the shock re-attached. I couldn't tell from the photo, how bad was it broken?

Re: Help identify this 4wd buggy/truck

as luck would have it, I believe there is still an auction on ebay for a new set of the black arms, I'd jump on it if I were you! parts do show up on ebay, but they are getting hard to find. you can still get one way bearings, they are the same size as ones on a popular heli main gear. you can get c...

Re: jammin jay diff

yeah, that ad completely helps, now I remember, I've seen that add probably dozens of times. the jammin kit used the bearing to support the spur gear, where the stock one used the diff tube as a bushing. the main benefits of the jammin jay parts are the d-ring drives, the extra thrust bearing on the...

Re: Kyosho Triumph Project - Rocket Powered.....

back in the day, we used to use 'N' cell batteries for headlights/taillights, etc. They are about half the size of AA batteries. I can't recall the mAh, but I'm sure it's not much. Radio shack used to carry them, along with little holders we would wire together. nowadays with Lipo batteries, I have ...

Re: jammin jay diff

does that kit have a ball bearing in the diff tube? I have one in my RC10, but it's been so long, I have no idea how or where I got it. Otherwise, it this just a tweaked rebuild kit? thanks for the info, some of this stuff I have no idea about, other stuff, as soon as I see a picture of it, all this...

Re: Kyosho Triumph Project - Rocket Powered.....

Mr casual, the chute gets deployed via that right angle tube, the rocket engine has a chute charge as the rocket ends the burn. it's intended to pop the nose cone and chute on a rocket for a hopefully safe return to earth. before the run, he stuffs the chute in the tube. he made mention of it in an ...

Re: factory carbon fiber or black fiberglass towers?

yeah, I mentioned above that filing a tiny amount gave off white dust. Which would be 'glass. The question is that the part is definitely molded black, not dyed. I was wondering if anyone knew of anyone that sold black towers, whether is was factory or not. I haven't seen any like this before.
