Re: jammin jay diff
does that kit have a ball bearing in the diff tube? I have one in my RC10, but it's been so long, I have no idea how or where I got it. Otherwise, it this just a tweaked rebuild kit?
thanks for the info, some of this stuff I have no idea about, other stuff, as soon as I see a picture of it, all this stuff flys back into my head and it feels like yesterday!

i never built the one i had (above pic), but i think there was a bearing that camw with it. how it was used...... i don't know.
the one you have is probably the team losi/rps diff tube.

Re: jammin jay diff
The Jammin' setup diff tube was machined for D rings, but didn't have the bearing in the center like the RPS/Losi unit. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I think the J-418 big diff tube carrier bearing was non-flanged. There was a different type of thrust bearing, like used on the early Stealth 'boxes, too.

Re: jammin jay diff
yeah, that ad completely helps, now I remember, I've seen that add probably dozens of times.
the jammin kit used the bearing to support the spur gear, where the stock one used the diff tube as a bushing.
the main benefits of the jammin jay parts are the d-ring drives, the extra thrust bearing on the tension spring, and the bearing supported spur.

Re: jammin jay diff
Hey scr8p- that picture looks familiar.....
I planned on installing it for the next VONats. I picked up a Rad2 that I may run in the "box stock" class if that happens, or I could run it in buggy just to be different.
If I ever get a chance to install it, I'll post up some pictures and commentary.

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

Re: jammin jay diff
I just picked up one of these rebuild kits for my 6 gear. It didn't include the diff hubs, only the thrust bearings and washers (part # J-109). I used the stock shaft, drive hubs and rings. So far, so good. Thanks to templeofspeed for posting the pic. It really helped with the rebuild, since there were no instructions.
