Re: Ultima Pro Restoration
Opened and cleaned the servo, it was perfectly clean inside, stock grease was redistributed. Those are the weirdest screws I have ever seen. 1/2 turn to full out. I started to unscrew and they came popping out like crazy. Very weird. Servo.jpg Have the same steering servo in my project. Probably 30...

Re: Ebay/Baba ESC
Just wanted to update this. I found an old website that was selling rebranded versions of my esc advertising they supported down to 13 turns. I ended up going with a Holmes Hobbies Retro Sport 21t. So far so good, and definitely much faster than the previous HPI 27t motor. Based on the specs, the 21...

Re: Outlaw Rampage Pro Team - electric conversion rescue
New driveshaft fixed it. I will keep that in mind though. I do have a Mod 1 gear and it is way too big. 32p might work.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Wed Jun 04, 2025 4:53 pm If you can find a 32 pitch spur gear that will fit, I'd switch to it. The larger gears are much more forgiving on mesh.

Re: Outlaw Rampage Pro Team - electric conversion rescue
Making some progress. Got a new motor and I was able to figure out the transmission except for one item. The spur gear wobbles however the driveshaft does not appear bent. I think it is related to how the inside slipper plate rests on the pin but I am not sure. The wobble is enough that the mesh is ...

Asbestos
Recently learned about the Slash recall for asbestos while searching for vintage parts. I imagine this would be a greater concern with vintage stuff. How would one know if an old part contained asbestos? I was looking at this for example: https://sheldonshobbies.com/products/slippery-pad?_pos=1&...

Re: We need a "The Worst" body painting poll.
I don’t have a picture, but I painted my USA-1 body back in the day. Came out really nice, except I used the wrong paint and it started flaking off almost immediately. Ended up having to paint the outside.

Little too modern, but I love that paint job!juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 10:21 am Well then, I'll add another option.
This is the JConcepts Finnisher that I used on my RC10 E-GT conversion.

For "Other" there's the Sabula Tech "Flag" for the RC10GT: The TBG/JConcepts 6134: Or 9516: There's also a Proline/Protoform '99 Silverado style, single cab, rear tower body for the GT on eBay, if I come across it again I'll post the picture. Would love to see these painted. Goo...

Re: Shower door issue
...but those large openings in the shower base are drains for releasing water from behind the shower wall panel, not for door drainage. That is what I needed to know, thanks! It does have drain holes in the aluminum but they are not low enough to let all of the water out. I may have to expand them.

Re: Body for Kyosho Outlaw Rampage Pro restoration
As far as I can tell, the XRT body is exactly the same and has provisions for both shock locations.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Thu May 29, 2025 10:14 pm Is this for your electric conversion truck? Would an XRT body work with that? It has the rear shock tower in the back just like an RC10GT, so I can see how that body might work.

Body for Kyosho Outlaw Rampage Pro restoration
Trying to decide on a body for my restoration. The obvious choice is the TBG Pro XRT body. However, the negatives are that it is expensive and does not include window masks or the wing. I also like the look of the RC10GT bodies and they are cheaper and include the masks and wing. Not sure they would...

Shower door issue
Lots of handy people here, hopefully someone can help me. I have been having trouble cleaning my shower. The bottom of the aluminum framed glass door does not drain anywhere. Is it supposed to drain out these openings in the pan? There is one on each side of the door.

Re: Outlaw Rampage Pro Team - electric conversion rescue
Any recommendations for spur gears? The factory 105t is for the 30k rpm .12 OS and is geared too low for my brushed electric setup. I think I need something in the 75-86t range but I am not sure what will fit.

I’m probably being too picky. However, I do think it is supposed to be straight.

Re: Outlaw Rampage Pro Team - electric conversion rescue
Got a good deal (or so I thought) on a chassis on eBay.
Should I try to straighten this or return it? The bend angle is identical to the protrusion in the tail. I am guessing it got stepped on or something similar.
